To me it is preparing for a meeting, i myself never meet a person if iam not even feeling clean & tidy.
For all occasions normally i prepare accordingly, now for Salat, i had to be in direct contact with Allah All Mighty, so i specially take care of my dressing and tidiness.
I guess it is human psychy that they do not feel comfortable if they are not clean, i guess this is why Islam has emphasised on being clean and tidy all the time. Other than Salat, i cannot concentrate on anything if iam not clean…
its just my feeling i don’t know about others,
