Wuzu (Wudu - whatever)

How many of you notice a difference in your praying pattern and focus if you pray without doing the standard water-based wuzu procedure?

Do you mean Salat?

You can't pray without Wudu...It makes it null and void...

Use your imagination Lajjo. IF you prayed without wudu, how would it affect your concentration and absorbance into your prayer?

And besides - most of us at some point or the other - have dodged wuzu out of laziness. Whether we wish to admit it or not. :snooty:

PCG - wudu is like a prerequisite to salat, why would anyone pray without having wudu

^ for the same reason one opens up a thread entitled “post your balls”.

PCG…That really doesn’t make sense…

You cannot dodge Wudu…It’s like praying without bowing and prostrating…Do you think your prayers are valid if you don’t bow or prostrate? They aren’t…Similarly, there is no prayer if there is no Wudu…

Okay, you folks need to learn to read. Did I say that reading namaz without wudu is jaahiz or anything of the sort. That is an entirely different debate. I am wondering, for those of you who in some moments of your life, have dodged doing wudu, done a str8 prayer - as to what THAT feels like. If you've never done so, why are u responding?

By asking this question, I'm not condoning reading namaz without wudu.

In fact, my real intent is different, but I do not wish to disclose it because it will influence the responses.

I have never prayed without wudu - sounds funny.

But I can never get myself to even step on my prayer mat without wudu. Its all about purifying yourself before salah I guess. It makes prayers completely different from all the other stuff we do.

I have heard many people say that they notice a major difference. When they were sick and unable to do proper Wudu ,their prayer did not seem to be as much of an experience of feeling close to Allah. But again thats what they said ,I wouldnt know about myself.

Until few year ago when I didn't care too much about praying, I did offer salah without wudhu every once in a while.

Back then, I felt much better and connected when I made wudhu and prayed after. At the same time, it didn't matter too much to me in the past.

Now I do make wudhu before offering salah and it makes me feel guilty/bad if I know it may not have been done well or could've been renewed, which I didn't for one reason or another.

i feel as if my prayer has not been accepted. Especially when ur out somewhere and there is no paani!! and u end up doing massa (sp?)

Masah/tayammum is permissible when there's no water around.

I believe there are a few rulings that apply to it.

ouch!!!

i have a habit of going thru the regular wudu process before every prayer even i am in wudu....
and i think it wud feel perfectly alright to pray when u cud not find water and had to do tayumum....
never been in that situation though....

but due to some injuries i did have to do masah on my foot, and i just felt more thankful to Allah for making things so easy for us....

wudu is of two types..fard and sunnah.

I heard somwhere that you become a kaafir, if you pray salat knowing you dont have wudu.
It shows how important wudu is for salah.

wuodhu is a pre requisite to salat, just as ignition is to moving a car, how can u move a car without revving it first...!!!

besides havent done it, although performed tayammum & it didnt feel any different, in fact my first tayammum was in Mina, when I went for Hajj & fire erupted in da tents. We were asked to evacuate da tents & head towards da mountains where there was no water, & Asr prayers had started. All of our group members performed tayammum.

Apart from sadzz, no one has a clue what this thread was about. And yeah, leave it upto Allah to decide whose salat gets 'null and void'.

Use your head, Allah sent down the rules for you (or anyone else) to follow, not to meddle with anyone else's affairs (something desi matooz are obsessed with), especially when it involves someone's link with Allah.

I remember this one guy in a mosque in Lahore during Jummah Prayers, who shouted aloud right before prayer was about to start "APNEY APNEY POUNCHEY UTEY KAR LAWO WARNA TWADI NAMAZ DA KOI FAYDA NAYEE".

^ what does that translate into urdu?

pounchey utey kar lawo?

Spock--- Allah sent down guidance for a reason not as a joke.

haha and good for that man.:p He wasnt holding a gun to anyones head.Tusi vi bhaaz ajao.
