Famous Urdu poet Janisar Akhtar's son Javed Akhtar is also a well known poet, lyricist and story writer. Javed Akhtar's son Farhan Akhtar also wrote scripts of some movies and songs. Javed Akhtar's wife Shabana Azmi is the daughter of another famous poet Kaifi Azmi, but the famous actress has not yet tried her luck in writing.

The daughter of famous writer Imtiaz Taj ( writer of Anarkali and Chacha Chakkan) Yasmin Tahir is a well known name in Pakistan's broadcasting industry. Her husband Naeem Tahir is also well known TV / Radio artist. Yasmin Tahir's mother Hijab Imtiaz Ali also wrote some novels and stories.
Yasmin Tahir's son Ali Tahir dramatised stories of her grandfather alongwith his wife Wajeeha Tahir.

They are currently doing a project on Samjhota express issue. Its telecasted every Monday 7:45 pm from PTV. Its a very good attempt, but did not get due recognition

Ahmed Bashir, was a famous columnist and novelist. He also made an art movie 'Neela Parbat' in Pakistan. Ahmed Bashir's sister Parveen Atif is also well known personality in literary circles.
Ahmed Bashir's daughter Neelam Ahmed Bashir wrote beautiful short stories in Urdu and also dramatised some of the classics including Bano Qudsia's 'Kallo'.
Ahmed Bashir's other daughters are in showbiz including Bushra Ansari, who tried her luck in drama writing and got recognition for her scripts. Her first project as a writer 'Neeli Dhoop' was a bold attempt to address old age marriage of a widow.
