Wow...my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate...

Great news…

Justice (R) Wajehuddin

Re: Wow...my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate...

And how does he plan to become a "strong symbol of the unity of the federation..." among other pressing things...

Re: Wow...my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate...

Brother, they are showing their unity with federation and support for coming Presidential election from present set up. From their actions they are showing maturity, more than those corrupt and two-faced politicians who are threating to resign :).

To show their acceptance and respect of coming election, as symbol, they (lawyers and Judges) have put a candidate to contest this coming election. Contesting Presidential election by retired judge (Justice Wajeeh-uddin) shows that lawyers and judges respect the election that is to soon take place in Pakistan. It is their (Lawyers and judges) vote of confidence on coming election :D.

Re: Wow…my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate…

I loved how Tariq Mahmood when announcing Wajeehuddin’s nomination forcefully stated that he (Wajeehuddin) had refused to swear an oath on the PCO, and would have been a judge for a long, long time had he done i.e. he was man of principle! In that tirade, it seems he was hinting at other judges like the present CJ who had sworn an oath on the PCO, and hence secured their present positions. :hehe:

Re: Wow…my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate…

Bhai, Justice Wajeeh-uddin ko hamay appreciate karna chahiya. He came out meaningfully to support Presidential election. Probably after president Musharraf is elected as President, he would give Justice Wajeeh-uddin job somewhere as appreciation for his effort and supporting Presidential election

Re: Wow...my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate...

An honourable man, well respected for his work in Karachi and his principles.

Re: Wow...my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate...

** Wajehuddin** is a principled man - he will take of PCO judges and their errant sons. :)

Re: Wow…my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate…

The constitution of Pakistan lays down in the ‘Election of President’ rules that any Presidential candidate has to be proposed and seconded by a member of the National parliament or any of the Provincial assemblies

That means that Wajehuddin has to be proposed by at least 2 elected membes of the opposition. Now as the opoosition have said they will either resign or abstain from the election, who will nominate him?

Which opposition party members will be the proposers? :hehe:

Re: Wow...my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate...

^ how is PPP going to nominate Makhdoom if "all" opposition is resigning?

Re: Wow…my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate…

Isn’t this exactly what you have been parroting on the forum?

Re: Wow...my favourite judge is a Presendial candidate...

On Geo just a short while ago Qazi Hussain was taking the credit for putting forward Wajeehuddin for the Presidential Election. Talk about kiss of death for the poor judge :o. No doubt MMA members will be proposing and seconding the judge, which begs the question as to where the resignations threat stands?
