Re: Would you...

RasulAllah married after Khadijah (r) died. How dare anyone say you shouldn't.

Re: Would you...

I don't know why but its just a gut feeling I have that I don't think I would

re-marry if, Khudah na khasta, my wife died.

Re: Would you...

I don't think anyone said you should NOT remarry, but rather that they dont feel they could wnat to marry someone else.

Yes, the Prophet SAW did re-marry and he did love his wife but does that mean any other man should or is under any obligation to remarry? No.

Prophet SAW also treated his wives with the utmost love and kindness but you have men who argue its their right to beat their wives, and then some who dn't want to be loving and kind to their wives because they think it will diminish thier authority/respect.

Re: Would you...

We have the right to do anything halal.

Re: Would you...

I doubt marrying a such a short while after ur spouse's death is moral or right but whatever.

Re: Would you...

Taking a page out of my book eh? Indirect reference? :)

remarry if your spouse died?

[/QUOTE]

Maybe it depends u always can fall in love with some1.

Re: Would you...

I don't think there is anything wrong with remarrying. I don't think it is a betrayal of the love you feel for your first spouse.

I can't imagine myself marryied to anyone else. But I do think that it would depend on when in my life I lost my spouse. I would certainly need a lot of time before I would consider it.

Re: Would you...

NO

My Dada remarried after his wife died... leaving my Dad and two younger brothers.

MY step-Dadi and him had 7 more kids.

My mum was the oldest bahu in the house and they were nasty to her, because of that reason I can't stand them. My mum is an angel.

(Edited to add...)

Til this day my parents have always treated them as you would expect to treat brothers/sisters, no different, but there's no deep sincerity towards us from their behalf...

Re: Would you...

Mr Mullah jee -nobody in this thread said you shouldnt remarry. we are not talking about religion here...we're talking about personal preferences. as Islam does not say we should or shouldnt remarry....hence religion does not come into this matter.

Re: Would you…

where there is love there is no mention of “my rights” and “your rights”…i.e. between a husband a wife who truly love each other

everyone else who replied in this thread -you made some really good points :k:

Re: Would you...

That might be true but non-muslims can have relationships out of wedlock so I think they have an easier time being unmarried because they can still have a companion.
