Re: Would you marry...
no.

I dont know parents back home knew that before wedding their daughter, but I know of 2,3 acquaintances who married in Pakistan after getting their residency. One of them didn't divorce his wife here. so he has wife and kids here and another in Pakistan.
My answer is NO as well though.
Re: Would you marry...
Absolutely not. "Conveniently" waiting until he acquired a green card to obtain a divorce would indicate that he used his ex-wife for a green card. If he's capable of doing that, what makes you think he isn't capable of marrying you out of convenience and divorcing you after he's gotten whatever it was he was after?
Re: Would you marry...
No way! I'd be surprised if a girl actually says yes.
Re: Would you marry...
Nope
Re: Would you marry...
No
Re: Would you marry...
How is this even a question?

He already has a green card so unless you're the only child of a millionaire, your answer should be 'hell yes'.
Re: Would you marry...
^He has his green card but he's not coming across as a particularly nice person, is he.. unless there's a good reason he left her..

Can't say if he is or isn't. How did you conclude that?

I did put 'unless there's a good reason.'
Her job to find out what the reason is but on the surface it does look iffy..
Re: Would you marry...
I know men who were divorced and are married now. They are Ma Sha Allah very happy.
I am already engaged so can't answer your question.
Re: Would you marry...
Why put blatantly obvious question to general public. Do you get some satisfaction out of validation from Gs folk?
Re: Would you marry...
^ pwner, the world is made up of all sorts and what may seem like an "obvious answer" has lots of shades of grey. I'm going to throw in a slight twist - but this is based on a real-life scenario.
Guys comes to US on student visa. Guy dates non-Muslims for fun during his student days. Guy cannot get status in US independently. Guy's non-Muslim gf offers to marry him so he can get his green card (according to him, she agreed to help him out and knew the marriage would end after he got status). Guy and his gf get married. Guy gets green card. Guy and his gf/wife get divorced. Guy now seeks to marry a Muslim girl.
Woud a Muslim girl marry such a guy? The answer is yes (he is now engaged to a Muslim girl).
Re: Would you marry...
The OP is worded in a way to insinuate that the girl was not onboard (the 'conveniently'), thats why most of the posters inferred that the guy used the girl for greencard and dumped her.
What you suggested is a different scenario, aptly put forth by you with ' a slight twist'.

I know of at least three men who have done the above.
One idiot came on a student visa to Princeton, charmed a fellow non Muslim student, she got pregnant, they had a child..he got his green card, and then he dumped her.
He has no contact with his daughter who grew up as a Catholic, and he is now married to US PAK and still living in US.
I've had rishtas for my DD from Pak whose first concerns are is she a US citizen and how they want a green card. Even had a fellow relative, close relative try and set up someone from Pakistan for my daughter with the 'promise' they will get the green card.
Re: Would you marry...
Oh and my answer would be NO.
Re: Would you marry...
No and would not recommend.
