Would you marry a muslim from another 'sect'?

hmmm... ive just been reading a few of the posts.. pretty good i must say :)

just wanted to add an extra 2 cents.. i personally dont think its a problem if two sects marry into one another...

i have seen sunni parents.. and ive seen the difference in their opinions and then the affect on their children... children will always follow whoever they want.. it doesnt matter about the sect.. whatever suits them.. or whatever they relate to better.. they will follow...

personal experience :)

agar khudi batana tha to hum se kyoon poocha tha? :mocking:

^ meine socha.. meri soch hamesha se hi ghalat hothi hai.. kyun na GS walon se poochloon :mocking: (back at u)

OK this is just me, but I would marry ANY muslim from a different background as me, but he has to have the same sect as me which is sunni.

Thats just me, b/c I do not think culture can be as big of a difference then sect.

:salam: :k: yaar that’s what i wanted to say ke sects make no difference @ all , and as far as children are concerned , i believe that they should be given the options to chose from.. Remember , the basic pillars of all sects are same.

I agree, In Our Daily Life no difference

That is the just the reason why our older generation oppose the marriages of different “sects”.

Mate, basic’s are surely same, but what happens in the real world is different. People even kill in the name of religion. In the real world you actually stop your kids to meet the kids whos parents are from different sect.

I wish that the world could be perfect and what we think and we want is always possible but it aint. You can make difference in your life, and live happily but how other ppl see your life or what happens in future i.e. after giving choice to your kids to find their own religion thats not in you hands.

Dude you might think that i am a big time pesimist but whatever i have said is from real life experience.

Folks, this thread is about a question which was posed in the first post. Can you please take your discussion on the Ahmadiyyat and various off-shoots of that to many other threads opened here already?

Lets stick to the topic, all of you. Thanks. :)

I do not agree wuith u at all ... We ourselves are the ones who find things different in the real world. Those who kill others in the name of a religion that is meant to promote peace and harmony are not aware of the true spirit of Islam and they are the ones at fault .. well there is nothing wrong with the world itself .. it is a fault in the thoughts of people living in the world.
in my opinion children should be informed of both RELIGIONS ( as you call the sects different religions ) and they should be allowe d to choose.

well i don't think you are a pesimist .. u should look into the matter with a broader and open mind.
