Absolutely not. That to me shows a clear lack of morals, an ability to deceive, and just an overall untrustworthy person. I couldn't put myself in that situation always wondering what he was up to knowing that he had no problem doing it in the past. The one that gets cheated on isnt the one with the flaws; its the cheater. What makes me think he'll not do it to me? No thanks, i'll pass!

That’s what I’d say.
The person who asked me this however says that at least the guy was honest enough to share his mistakes and that he should be given a chance based on his honesty.

If a guy admits his mistake, I still wouldn't say yes to him. Cheating is something unacceptable to me.
If he puts all the blame on his ex and tries to be innocent in front of me, I wouldn't believe because we cannot make any judgement unless we get to hear the other side of the story.

And tomorrow he could cheat on YOU with someone else. If he didn't bother being disloyal to his ex then chances are there he won't care being disloyal to you, before or after marriage.
I don't think it would be easy to trust someone who has cheated in the past. At least, I wouldn't trust such a person..

But surely it takes two to tango, if he was cheating on his ex, you would (at some point) know that you were part of the affair.
And it really depends on the situation and why he cheated, if he was some serial cheater and didn't take his relationships seriously etc etc - would you even consider marrying him? It's a different case to someone who was in dead relationship and wanted to get out anyways.
Also, what Nomi said - if he's that much of a cheater, he might not even tell you. If he's honest about it from the start, surely that says something for his character?

If the guy accepts his mistake and seems to know what he did was disgusting then maybe I would. Everyone has a past. Fair enough cheating is despicable but if a person has changed and matured since then then they deserve a chance. Its all about trust at the end of the day. If I felt I could trust the guy 100% then I'd give him a chance but if I couldn't then I'd show him the door that would lead him out of my life.
