sometimes....finding out about one's ex CAN ruin a perfectly good relationship. Because the partner can become jealous about the ex and/or might feel as if they have to compete with the ex. Sometimes they might even feel like they are being compared.

Like i said....why bring up the past....especially if you are happy and content in the relationship you're already in.

Would it make you jealous if your partner talked about the happy moments with their ex?

Would you ask them to stop talking about them cuz it pisses you off or would you be a good friend and listen to every word they say, even though it hurts cuz you think they might still be in love with them?

I think it is good at the start of a relationship to lay open your past and to clear the slate. Once you have done that I don’t think there is any point in bringing up ex’s again.

I dont mind hearing about it briefly...i always want to know why someone broke up with thehir ex and sometimes if the ex is a friend etc...for basic informative purposes in the initial stages its fine...
If she still speaks about him in depth when we are seeing each other then i want to part of it...whether she speaks good or bad of him makes no difference it means he is still relevant...
The only time she should talk about it is if she is asked...

Though by the grace of Allah my fiance didn't have a boy friend. Just for the sake of discussion, I would not mind anything regarding her ex, except anything that indicates comparison with me or my lifestyle. (no matter good or bad)
