I’d be scared.
Some people feel the need, or have some for hunting. I think we should avoid having them at home because they could be misused, misfired, get into the wrong hands. There are serious implications.

Yes, if I were to live in Pakistan I’d probably carry one around with me, I don’t like mobile snatchers

I am against having any type of fire arm in the house. Too many child related accidents involving guns.

There is no need for firearms in the house… and it’s not legal here in the UK anyway… even if it was i don’t think i would have one in the home… and i don’t believe people who say it’s ‘for self defence’ as you’ve obviously bought it with intention to use it eventually; having handled firearms in my previous line of work, people underestimate the capabilities of it…
Having said that, my grandfather had many shotguns etc in his house in the UK, back in the day, when he and his friends used to go hunting… i wonder where they are now?

this is pretty much a non-issue in countries other than the U.S. - for example in Canada, gun ownership is not regarded as a right, Very few people are even issued permits to carry handguns for reasons of self-protection, and it's only possible if an applicant can prove that his/her life is in danger and the police cannot offer them the requisite level of protection.
Having said that, if I were in the U.S., I wouldn't keep a gun at home for all the reasons mentioned in this thread.

I would get one. I used to be completely against it but you have no idea how quickly it can make a home invader change his mind about robbing you, ulte pairon wapis chala jaayega

Never instead I'll have pepper sprays or we should get some self defense training in case of burglary or sexual assault.

I would not have guns in my house, nope. THe possibles dangers are too high, esp. with kids & all the sad stories you hear. Even in cases where precautions were taken to store the guns, accidents still happen. Maybe invest in a security system, central station burglar alarm...etc...but too afraid to have a gun

While in Pakistan thesedays , I had no choice but to keep / roam with one because of my political alliances !
Away from Pakistan , my pen( keyboard ) is mightier than a gun/sword !
If there is no real necessity , I wouldn’t keep one at home !

C’mon lalay , carrying a gun as a show piece and taking it out to shoot some one ( even a mobile snatcher ) , are two different things.
Unless or until , you are formally trained to handle such situations , you cant even pull it out in a panicked situation .
Then by the law , you are only allowed to shoot them on surviving organs ! God forbid , if you kill a mobile snatcher , you would be in heaps of trouble as most of the snatching fellas are either police guys or associated with some political party .

One of my friend moved to Karachi from UK. And the 1st thing he bought in Pak was the Gun!
Some people in pak feel they have got to have a Gun no matter what ! probably because of our choor police…
