Sorry, but Islamically speaking, it is both partners’ responsibility to keep themselves well groomed and attractive for their significant other. Its part of the responsibilities of being married. And I find it logical and realistic.
This whole thing of “a man should never tough the subject of weight with his wife and he should always believe she is the most gorgeous woman and he is the luckiest guy in the world to be blessed with her companionship” sounds very fairytale and impractical to me.
