Please suspend the pot smoking, bring your seat to an upright position, and fasten your seatbelt as we make our departure from Pariyon ki Duniya, Bollywood and descend down.........a long descent mind you..........to Real Life, Earth, where there is much turbulence and imperfection and parents CAN make poor decisions for their kids even if the intentions were in the right place.

but what can the daughter do if moms interest n preferens z in this one bcs she knows family since kids were babies n trusts n likes guys mom ? .. so to her theyr kids r close to her heart .. second to her own .. she tihkns of this guy almost as her own son .. thts the thing .. the daughter is not in love with any of the options that will make her argue for one over the other .. n she doesnt want to argue with ehr mom either .. desnt want ot create unnescesary tention in the house ..

So, just because the two families have known each other since their kids were wee little bebes.....that's reason enough to get them hitched? LOL. Even in cousin marriages.....where the families are related by blood....doesn't guarantee happiness or compatibility. Look, at the end of the day....when you have problems in your marriage......it's gonna be YOU (and not so much your parents) that's gonna have to deal with them. So, if you KNOW in your heart that some habits of this guy are a deal-breaker for you......then let the rishta go....instead of hoping that you'll somehow be able to "change" him....cuz people don't change easy.

Pot is condemned because there is a history of political and racial prejudice. Desis seem to be okay with cigarettes (worst of the bunch), and to a lesser extent, alcohol, but not pot because the goras say pot is bad.
