when his married friends come over with their wives I always socialize and serve both husband and wife but when it's just his male friends then I just come and say salam and go in my room. I do serve whatever we have in the house. It's not really an 'anaa ka masla' for me. Now we don't have this problem but if hubby brought his friends every other day then I'd be very pissed!

I don't invite my friends much, we prefer going in some hotel and having some guy's time.
If invited she cooks and i serve.

If we have families over, hubs and i both serve and socialise. If its only his friends, i make things in advance and he takes care of the tea and serving part. Soni27 i am not sure what you mean by "young" folks but i know my husband wouldnt like me socialising with just his friends. And my brother who is what i call young, would be the same way: he wouldnt want his sisters or wife to go infront of otehr men when not needed.
Yeppp, thats how its done in our house too. My mum never serves my dads friends.. he does it himself.
Why is it a big deal though? I mean, do desi guys actually sit there making issues out of their wives not serving/socialising with their friends? Just curious, because the ones I know, never would.

There must be some narazgi between husband and wife. So he has to resolve it before inviting ppl.
Some wifes are so stubburn.
Once I saw that friend of my brothers invited us to his home when we went to his house she didn't come to meet us, didn't talk to us, didn't cook for us.
That guy was shirminda in front of us. We were like ignoring everything like not understanding what is going on.
I was new cause I visited my brother but they all knew about them. My family told me later about her that she want to live with her parents in uk and guy didn't want to go. She was living with her parents use to come after year or six months for few days to her husband. He tried a lot. Guys old mother use to cook for his son
In the end they got divorce. She was a proud lady.
What the real matter between them Allah janta hai. Main to yaktarfa batain sun kar believe naheen karti. Uskay side ki story kia thi Allah behtar janta hai.
Everyone was blaming her. I don't blame any1.

I will most probably meet with friends outside somewhere if my wife refuses to socialize with them. I am not going to make TAMASHA out of it by inviting them to our home, having said that....most of our family friends are my friends from college days and my wife get along well with bhabis very well infact they get to talk to each other more than we do :( ....no problem at all :)
My dad and his turkish friend like to hang out in our garage. my mom quickly makes some snacks and chai and my dad comes in and takes it on the tray. my dad really appreciates my mom's sweet effort, and my mom appreciates having her time to relax! so no problem of serving or socializing :)
