Well, first of all, polygraph's aren't 100% reliable....which is the reason they're not admissable in court.
And as far as giving the future spouse a total physical, CAT scans etc., unlike HIV or STD's, having blood pressure or other health problems aren't contagious and doesn't put the other's person's life in danger. And assuming most people(men and women) get married by the time they're 35, how bad can their health possibly be? Now if you're marrying someone who's like 49, yes, then it makes sense to have them have a physical to make sure they're healthy...
Oh and as far as other testing goes, other than STD or HIV, one other test that does make sense is a DNA test that scans for genetic diseases that can be passes onto children. I wouldn't be offended at all if my future husband asked for that.....heck I would want to know myself if I'm highly likely to pass on some horrible disease to my future children.
