Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

or India( for our Indian guppies) permanently?

For me personally it would be huge adjustment to move to India because being an AD(american desi) i’ve gotten used to life here and most all of my family is here so it would be unlikely that I would move.

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

never say never..thats my view.
its a possibility, fairly slim chance right now, but who knows maybe things will change later.

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

^are you an AD too or did you grow up in Pakistan?

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

I always wanted to have my own business in PK - had so many plans.
I might go back one day..... sometimes things aren't in our hands.

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

The state of Pakistan today would make it difficult for anyone to want to return. Indians on the other hand are gleaming with pride these days. So im sure they are just waiting for the oppurtunity...

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

I would IF they offer me a 100K+ (not in rupees of course) package THERE, which is VERY unlikely.. :chai:

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

ahhhh pakistani born or AD is way too simple.

I am a british born Pakistani, of parents who immigrated to Karachi from India and left after college for higher education, My childhoos was spent primarily in UK, Saudi Arabia and I also spent 2 fantastic years of my teens in Pakistan. moved to US soon afterwards. been here for more than half my life now.

I consider myself a citizen of the planet :)

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

last time i went, I actually liked how it's developed so much but I can't imagine myself driving in India. You have to be a real professional driver to not go completely crazy :Din the middle of all the chaos

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

well i learned driving in PK (lahore) so i can drive anywhere in the world. Lahore's traffic is pathetic.
I still drive there when i visit even though its all left/right hand driving issue but am fine with it.

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

hahaha so you know how it feels when you are in middle of “Ichra”, STUCK and a horse cart is on your right. the weater is hot and you roll down your window for some reason and BEHOLD you are now face to face with a HORSE. :rotfl:

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

:rotfl:

that feroz-pur road area is just terrible. we usually try to take other longer routes to save ourselves from taanga, gadha-gari, cycles, phal ki rehrRi…

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

are you trying to say that you ain’t moving back or did you just want to wave your middle finger at me?:stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

I changed my mind after 2004 visit back home -Pakistan:)

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

 wow you’ve been places haven’t you…I guess it would be really easy for you to adjust anywhere you decide to stay

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

no, i mean there are certain minimum requirements that I have.
but def more flexible than most, studied abroad in EU as well, moved in US from small college town to big city to smaller city to a bigger city..

I think I could make it in Pakistan if i needed to, I am just not sure at this point whether I want to, u know.

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

so what were you thinking before 2004?

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

everyone should move back n forth, n explore the new meanings of life n world.

so answering you question, i rather reside there "permanently" after my death.

for temporarily, sure-y not!

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

and reasons for this change of mind? :chai:

Re: Would guppies consider moving back to Pakistan

I had a similar incident. I was in Lahore and was borrowing a friend’s Kawasaki trail, don’t remember exactly where it was but I was going to shop for “khais”. I stopped at a red light (yeah yeah, sometimes you have to) and turned my head to the left and was shocked to see a horse’s head 4 inches from my face, so i kinda leaned to the right and bumped into something and turned to the right and saw that i’d bumped into a donkey’s head. I haven’t laughed harder than I did that day. :hehe:

To the topic at hand: I actually tried moving to Karachi in '97, but that didn’t last for more than 6 weeks and I was back. But it might change one day, as X2 said.
