Would discovering aliens

Re: Would discovering aliens

Absence of intelligent beings does not mean our higher intelligence. It just means we don't know where we rank yet. Considering we have been around for tens of thousands of years with major progress only being made in the last few hundred years I'd say we're not intelligent at all.

define intelligence???

some species may not t be able to communicate through language and speech but it doesnt mean the re not intelligent

Give me an example of one species?

I am not defining intelligence by speech here. My definition of intelligence here is the same as you will find in any dictionary.

Because we aren’t that special. We have a long way to go! We are new to the universe. You really think we are one of a kind or the universe is created for us?! Our own history tells us what we are capable of creating. Yet if you compare it to what is out there to learn and explore, we have not made much progress at all!

If aliens can reach us, their technology has to be better. They would be light years ahead of us! They would have an advanced form of intelligence we don’t posses yet!

I tried responding twice but I don’t know why it didn’t go through.

But to respond to you, simply focus on the “if” in your last paragraph.

Re: Would discovering aliens

Dolphins.

Intelligence has different definitions.

Re: Would discovering aliens

Like 09 said, absence of intelligent beings does not make us the most intelligent ones. Aliens could already be here without ever exposing themselves to us. Like Philosophy said, intelligence can be measured in many different ways and does not have one definition.

I am an animal lover but if you are going to compare dolphins to humans in terms of intelligence & lets not forget all the other contributions humans have/are & will be making to this world because of their “intelligence”, then I rest my case here.

Re: Would discovering aliens

Why are you measuring intelligence in human terms? What have we done for dolphins to benefit them? nothing. Our intelligence means nothing for them so we must not be intelligent at all in their mind.

Being intelligent and being capable are two different things. For a specie to be superior, it needs to have a good balance of both. Dolphin are more intelligent than us, and maybe jinns are me capable, but we beat both on this earth in terms of superiority.

Re: Would discovering aliens

^Exactly! But let's not forget there's more water on earth than land. What exactly have we accomplished under sea? The sea life remains undisturbed for the most part. We haven't even discovered all that is there. How do we know they don't have some crazy advance communication system down below? A system we don't have the intelligence or capability to understand!

Haw haai, someone thinks that Kaijus really exist and live under the sea.

Re: Would discovering aliens

Kaijus? :bummer:

I read it as Kajus..lol

^Pacific rim nahi dekhi hai?

Re: Would discovering aliens

^nopes.

Re: Would discovering aliens

or perhaps they can communicate in some sort of language but we just can’t understand them or make sense of it yet :hmmm:

Re: Would discovering aliens

Interesting notion!

It makes me sad that if or when we discover alien I won’t be here

Re: Would discovering aliens

A kaiju

Re: Would discovering aliens

Any intelligent and technologically advanced civilization would have a knowledge of one universal language at least. Binary code that is. Voyager 1 or 2 that has a plaque and messages for extraterrestrial; the message is in binary code.

Re: Would discovering aliens

awesome point! endless possibilities..

Re: Would discovering aliens

grow up people, aliens have been discovered.

Re: Would discovering aliens

Why should it impact religion? :/ Even the thought that aliens exist whilst we speak doesn't make me doubt or question religion. Nor do I wonder what they believe in.
