Have an impact on religion? An offshoot of the other thread.
In Islam there is a concept of other beings (Makhlooqs) so I don't think in Islam it would change much.
Now if these aliens happened to be smarter than the human beings then it would put questions to a lot of things because technically us human beings are "Ashraf ul Makhlooqat" so from what I understand there aren't supposed to be other beings smarter than humans.
Yeah we don't always use our brain for the right things is another story.

Yes, absolutely!
Imagine aliens being capable of performing all those "miracles" mentioned in the scriptures then wouldn't people begin to think that aliens are God/God's workers? People tend to think of God as a separate entity, an alien being that cannot be compared with anything else but is capable of thinking like us. With that kind of mentality, I imagine a lot of people will immediately renounce their faith and accept the aliens as Gods.

I agree with her point. White men seemed Gods to a lot of tribes, reasonable to assume highly advanced aliens would have the same effect.

At the risk of derailing the topic, there has been one banning in the last half a year as far as I know. Complaining about Moderators all the time and then calling others sensitive is the epitome of irony.

And we have changed our policy on that, she is here right now and posting. I have agreed with her posts about religion and Science in numerous threads, nothing wrong with them at all. She is a fantastic member and I am glad she is back and posting.
You did not mention Mods, but since only Mods carry out bannings I struggled to see who else you were talking about.
I agree with you, everyone has their own views which should be debated instead of being censored. Which is why nothing has been removed from these few threads.

I highly doubt we are the most intelligent beings in the universe. Ashraf-ul-makhlooqat could have a million interpretations. It could simply mean that humans are the dearest creation to God but we don't know in what way.

Because we aren't that special. We have a long way to go! We are new to the universe. You really think we are one of a kind or the universe is created for us?! Our own history tells us what we are capable of creating. Yet if you compare it to what is out there to learn and explore, we have not made much progress at all!
If aliens can reach us, their technology has to be better. They would be light years ahead of us! They would have an advanced form of intelligence we don't posses yet!
