Iblees does not want any bad for you in this world. So he does not want you to suffer in anyways. He only wants you to suffer in Akhirat. Having said that, the only person who is worst than iblees would be someone who wants you to suffer in akhirat, and wants you to die sooner than later so you get there fast.
Unfortunately, that could be your best friend who wants you to be part of bad company which is also not healthy for your life.

Who is worse than Iblees? He'll be the king of those in Jahannum ... he knew Allah (SWT), he was the leader of the worshipers in all the heavens ... he fell and didn't get up ... his jealousy and pride ruined him ... Others have an excuse that we are veiled from Allah (SWT) we cannot directly see His Majesty ...

The crime of Iblees the cursed was that he did not obey Allah Almighty’s command due his pride, haughtiness and arrogance etc. But he never claimed divinity for himself.
So the wretched souls who claimed divinity for themselves are/should be worse than Iblees.

none can be worst then him..because he is the leader of all the evil...he started evil first...n then he promised Allah subhan wa taAllah he will astray His slaves by directing them towards wrong way..May Allah protect us Ameen...so whoever doing worst cannot be worst then him..bcz he is taking all the evil..he is totally evil...since the beginning n taking evil of rest the people who are following him..one could be his friend...offcourse one who started evil is the worst...!!!

I was thinking a similar thing, but I was not sure ... Because there are so many people who are worshiping Satan this must be through his influence ... Also, he has less of an excuse - Allah (SWT) has to be discovered by us in this life ... however, Iblees did not have such an excuse ... could even the worst human disobey Allah (SWT) on Judgment Day? However, Ibless disobeyed Allah (SWT) on the advent when all angels prostrated to the Adamic form before Allah (SWT) ... And in the Final Sermon when it was said, by RasoolAllah (SAW);
"Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things ..."
So he used lead people astray in big things ... and still does to the non-Muslims.

The act of prostration is not important ... It is the command ... Both commands came from Allah (SWT) ... In the case of Iblees he was not veiled from the Presence of Allah (SWT) like we are here ... he had no excuse to disobey Allah (SWT) ...

Surah Al-Hijr
“When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him.” 15:29]
So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 15:30]
Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 15:31]
(Allah) said: “O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?” 15:32]
(Iblis) said: “I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape.” 15:33]
(Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 15:34]
“And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment.” 15:35]
(Iblis) said: “O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised.” 15:36]
(Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 15:37]
“Till the Day of the Time appointed.” 15:38]
(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 15:39]
“Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace).” 15:40]
(Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 15:41]
“For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee.” 15:42]
I have quoted relevant ayahs from Surah Al-Hijr
In ayah 15:33 we see Ibleess’s excuse for disobeying Allah Almighty – superiority complex, pride got better than him. He rebelled against the command of Allah Almighty. His crime is very serious, as you have rightly pointed it out, he rebelled in presence of Allah Almighty.
In ayah 15:39 we see that Iblees despite his rebellion proclaims Allah Almighty as his Lord (Rabb)
Likewise we see in the following ayah – after having lead others astray, Shaitan/Iblees will absolves himself from the sin and expressing his fear of Allah Almighty and accepting Him as Rabbul Aalmeen ‘Lord of the Worlds’.
Like the Shaitan when he says to man: Disbelieve, but when he disbelieves, he says: I am surely clear of you; surely I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds. [59:16]
Iblees did not set himself as a rival to Allah Almighty. Shaitan/Iblees only suggests or encourages through his whispering for Man to sin. He cannot force Mankind into sin.

Indeed the Blessed Prophet’s (peace be upon him) words and advice is true. Believers commit ‘lesser’ sins thinking them to be insignificant – over the years these ‘lesser’ sins blacken the heart and leading to major sins.

To me someone who sets himself as a rival to Allah Almighty is worse than Iblees. Ibless rebelled against command of Allah Almighty but did not challenge His Lordship.
Those who claim divinity are setting themselves as rivals of Allah Almighty – thus imposing Shirk – this is most detestable /abominable sin in sight of Allah Almighty.

It is truly his claim that he will wipe his hands free of turning us away from ibadat ... But there are two wisdoms here:
1) Satan lies ... He is like brat who eggs on people makes them fall and claims to be innocent.
2) These words should give us determination not to resort to blaming Shaitan, but to be determined to go against his whispers.
So I believe he does have blame and despite saying "surely I fear Allah ..." If had that been true he would have obeyed Allah (SWT) ... He's even going to lie on Judgment Day to make us look bad ... That is how I see this verse.
Also, Pride is the adornment of Allah (SWT) ...
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
" قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي، وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا، قَذَفْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ".
رواه أبو داود(وكذلك ابن ماجه وأحمد) بأسانيد صحيحة.
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may ALLAH be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of ALLAH (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said:
"ALLAH (mighty and sublime be He) said:Pride is My cloak and greatness My robe, and he who competes with Me in respect of either of them I shall cast into Hell-fire.
[Abu Dawud (also by Ibn Majah and Ahmad) with sound chains of authority. This Hadith also appears in Muslim in another version.]
According to this to have pride and sense of self-greatness is a form of "shirk" ... as these are Attributes befitting only Allah (SWT).
Also, it may be that someone's crime is worse ... but the crime does not make the person worse ... If a man accidentally kills another man in a car accident compared to a thief who intentionally takes several expensive items from a closed shop. Although the killing is worse, the thief in his "person" is a worse person, because he intended his theft.
Likewise, the scholar who sins is more accountable, the rich and powerful person who sins is more accountable ... and Iblees was both richest/powerful in the creatures and most knowledgeable ... his accountability was high. The forgetful nature of man, the being born in ignorance and innocence, the shield from the presence of Allah (SWT) are all forms of Mercy from Him, that if we fault in a crime we commit, the blame is reduced ...
Our acts can be worse than a Devil's acts perhaps ... but to be worse than the Devil ... we must have fuller awareness of the act, the complete intent of the act ... and no excuse of incapacity.
It is dangerous however to blame the Shaitan ... Blaming is itself a blameworthy state ... we should take responsibility for our actions ... and with that mindset we can remain more vigilant, inshaAllah.

Still there are many verses in Holy Qur’an where Almighty Allah commanded to bow (prostration) and be among them who bow (prostrate) to Me (Him, Almighty Allah). Furthermore, the act which differentiate a believer from a non-believer is the act of Salat (prayer) especially the act of prostration in Salat (prayer) to Almighty Allah. I think it is an important act (of prostration in any Salat).

We are not talking about a non-believer here but about a believer like me, you and all those believers who were ordered to bow to Almighty Allah five times a day and if we don’t do that then what excuse we have for not obeying His order/command?
We also believe in a hadith that every child is born with faith but his parents turns him into another belief. If the true guidance is not came to them and in ignorance they do (disbelieve) worship to any other deity beside Almighty Allah, then that is a different matter which is right now i’m not discussing here and if you guys would like then we’ll discuss it too but later on.
As I said above, a believer, what excuse he have if he don’t bow (prostrate) Almighty Allah, five times a day as he/she is ordered/commanded to do so. Will he or will he not be worst then ibless (shaitan)?
Imply it on yourself and just think for a moment that when on the day of Judgement, Almighty Allah will ask us (His servants) that what cause you for not bowing (prostration) to Him, at then what excuse we’ll have?

A human believer will only be worse if he gets a direct command of Allah (SWT), has the certainty as if he was seeing Allah (SWT) and still disobeys ... whereas it is my belief that the weakest of the believers will suddenly fall and prostrate to Allah (SWT) if certain veils are lifted.
If a person can live in this Earthly existence and still believe in Allah (SWT) then that is big deal ...
We see the Qur'an - we believe it is a miracle - and we can reflect on it and work out that truly is miraculous - but the nature of it is that it is a slow seeping miracle - not a sudden thing ... Because of its subtlety and greatness ... this world distracts us from realising the true Magnificence of Allah (SWT), because of the layers of veils we are in ... It is for this reason that by becoming believer - one becomes as sinless as a baby. If a person dies like that without having done a single sujood, but a believer ... that is for Allah (SWT) to reward. But by becoming a believer one testifies that "Allah (SWT) DESERVES worship" ... and hence if he or she fails to worship Allah (SWT) they are going against what they believe and they are guilty. However, Iblees denied the command of Allah (SWT) ... "Allah (SWT) instructed the prostration of tashreef, but Ibless felt and still feels **that the human form is lesser than him - he was insulted at the notion ... Allah (SWT) instructed him, but his disobedience was based on the idea that Allah (SWT) was wrong to ask him ... Auzdubillah ... Whereas the laziness and reluctance of Muslims for not praying is **not due to the idea that they believe Allah (SWT) is wrong to command us to worship Him, but out of laziness, distraction, misunderstanding, lack of taqwah, etc.
So a believer who does not prostrate to Allah (SWT) realising it is an injustice to himself ... is never going to be worse than Iblees who believed he was being wronged by Allah (SWT) for being asked to prostrate to the Adamic form.
Humans are good at making excuses ... But the best excuses are ones where we identify our own weaknesses not to blame others, not to blame Shaitan even, and certainly not to blame Allah (SWT)

:salam2: Brother lethal kamikaze My apologies I didn’t understand that you were referring only to the believers – Your first post didn’t mention that.
Those believers who do not pray as per requirement may be ‘lazy’ Muslims or they are in an environment where no importance is given to prayers – this mostly is from parents.
So to answer your question I would say that the worse than Iblees are those who ‘pray’ for show.
Their prayers are for ‘public image’ and has had no effect on them in dealing with others, in trade, with orphans, with needy and poor, with relatives, with neighbours etc. etc. And if they do anything good that too is for ‘public image’.
Surat Al-Mā`ūn (The Small Kindnesses) - سورة الماعون
Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie? 107:1]
That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness, 107:2]
And does not urge (others) to feed the poor. 107:3]
So woe to the praying ones, 107:4]
Who are unmindful of their prayers, 107:5]
Who do (good) to be seen, 107:6]
And withhold the necessaries of life. 107:7]

Some one doing a bad deed is for himself or may go as gunah e jarriya onwards but for iblees there are not only original sin that he knew ALLAH more then humans he still disobeyed HIM but also iblees will get gunah from all humans (muslims /non muslims) who will do a gunah. (there is a hadith about qabeel getting portion of gunah from every murder till qiyamah).
With all due respect i dont think it is some thing important for us to know this and waste our energies on this. What is the maximum that we will achive with this? Even for knowledge purpose it is of no use for us.

We made a Covenant with Allah Most Merciful but as has been mentioned Insaan is linked to the word meaning to forget (misyaan? or something)

I think we all know and will be agree on that there are numerous hadiths where Prophet 
said that ‘I intend to go to the persons who do not join the (congregational prayer) and then order their houses to be burnt by the bundles of fuel’. Almighty Allah knows best what is the wisdom in such similar hadiths. However, what I think, that the Prophet PBUH is disliked one who miss or don’t pray.
In case of Iblees (shaitan), as quoted verses from Surah Al Hajr, by brother Ibn Sadique, he have an excuse for not prostration to Adam a.s., but what excuse we have for not prostrating Almighty Allah as HE ordered us to be among them who prostrates to HIM.

We aware of that if we wants to be among obedient of Almighty Allah then we have to obey HIS Prophet as well as Prophet said if you like me then follow me Almighty Allah will love you. See the first phrase (hadith). It seems that Prophet didn’t liked one who don’t pray or show laziness in praying.
Imagine ourselves in front of Almighty Allah when HE asks us questions, ‘My slave! Why did you not pray?’ What excuse will we do? What will we say? Where will we run? Where will we hide? Imagine ourselves on Judgment Day, where everyone will prostrate to Almighty Allah, when Almighty Allah comes to start Judgment in a way befitting His Majesty and, we will prostrate, but we’ll not be able to.
So, if we prostrated to Almighty Allah in this duniya (world), we would be able to prostrate to Almighty Allah in the hereafter. If we did not prostrate to Almighty Allah here, we will not be given that glory or the chance to prostrate to Almighty Allah. What’s holding us back from prostrating, even that we’ll have no excuse like the Ibless (shaitan) had.
So question is still remain there that who is the worst than Ibless (shaitan)?

Lets take an example of us that I pray when we are together but when we are alone at different places, don’t see each others, then how come you will know that either I prayed in alone or not? It is only me who know either i’m praying or not. As for show-off in front of you or other peoples, it’s depend on my intentions. Means my intention only known by Almighty Allah.
