Re: World Cup - Group E
Ghana lead 2:1 at the half.
Re: World Cup - Group E
What was with the pitch being so slick?
Disappointed in penalty kick where there was no foul.
Good job by Ghana moving on.
Re: World Cup - Group E
crybaby american.
Now you know everyone in world hates you. :P
Re: World Cup - Group E
Ghana fully deserved it's place in the next round. USA looked like the #32 team throughout the tournament except for a few minutes against the Italians.
Can Ghana pull the upset of the century by defeating the Magicians?

Can Ghana pull the upset of the century by defeating the Magicians?
They might just do that. They will be different team when their 2 players are back in next game. I wont right them out yet.
Some of these African teams are really exciting.
Re: World Cup - Group E
I don't find Ghana as exciting as Cameroon was in '94. I think they are riding on the outstanding saves and skills of their goalie Kingson. I think they will be beaten by Brazil easily.

american drama queen :D
Re: World Cup - Group E
Cameroon wasn't exciting at all in 1994:D
Re: World Cup - Group E
Cameroon did shook the world up with their thrilling and often voilent game. Same was with South Korea last time, they were too fast in the field to handle.
But at the end technique wins over anything else in football.
My prediction is quiet vast. It will be either Brazil (if they get out of their current sleeping doze), Argentina, Portugal or Spain in this order.
Re: World Cup - Group E
I'd have supported US' bid to advance to the next round, but..
.. it was clearly the weakest team in their group.
.. Landon Donovan apparently wore an invisibility cloak, which he must have borrowed from Harry Potter but without any magical abilities.
.. there appeared to be very little, if any, pre-planning to actually win the game against Ghana.
.. and most importantly, I am so sick and tired of ESPN commentators, who kept talking about US and its chances while commenting in every game of the tournament, rather than commenting on the actual game going on and the teams that are playing the game. Now that US is out of the tournament, hopefully we won't have to hear the stupid "US this" and "US that" in every game of the tournament.
Re: World Cup - Group E
:k:
That was whole reason I was pissed at USA. Every damn game we have to hear the same crap about how great the US team is. Now we wouldnot have to tolerate this anymore.
Re: World Cup - Group E
My biggest issue is the lack of drive out of the U.S. players. They never looked sharp, they came close against Italy but never really got there. Beasley was the biggest disappointment for me, where was the effort?
The only logical explanation is coaching. The coach needs to get his team mentally prepared to play. The biggest issue was U.S. went into every game with a “Let’s get a tie” or “Maybe we won’t lose” attitude. They never came out and said “We are going to run the feild today”. This World Cup was a mental loss, yes U.S. did get some questionable officiating, but they never had a spark.
I’ve seen kids playing in a U-12 tournement for a 3 inch plastic trophy play with more heart, and that is the let down. ![]()
Re: World Cup - Group E
BSPN brother, BSPN brother. I’ve been saying it for years. Ignore what commentators have to say. Just watch ESPN for highlights.

Re: World Cup - Group E
bhai sahab, USA is new to the game (you know in many ways despite of its early WC appearances). Its new to the International football culture, which is a truely international atmosphere which ignorant white trash of US are unaware of. All they know is Tennis and athletics in Olympic. Their internationalism dies right there. Their own so call SPORTS are an example of their limited brain walls. NASCAR, American Rugby (
I call it that), baseball and basketball mostly played within the continent. With basketball enjoying a world wide popularity in last 20 years, but still no true world series held. Thinking globaly is beyond Yankee’s minds.
Futball is getting popular day by day in US, specially on school level the craze is building up. But its International culture might never be same as its in Europe, South America and Asia. Football is loved beyond the boundries and bias against teams. Its an obsession, an art, that has no match in other sports.
As I like (these days) Argentina or Portugal in football, and if Pakistan ever played to these teams, I will not support Pakistan. On the other hand if its field hockey or any other sports, my obvious support will be for Pakistan despite of how poor my team is.

Re: World Cup - Group E
I could only watch the second half of Italy-czech match. It was disappoinitng to see Czechs go out this soon but it had more to do with their bad performance against Ghana. Although I must say that some of the saves both Cech and Buffon made were simply outstanding and seeing both keepers applauding each other at the end was a sight to behold. Two best keepers in the world.
Ghana must be praised for such a heroic performance after a bad start. Kudos to them :k:
