Both? The least likely of all scenarios.

Italy? Sure.
The only way Republica de Czecha will advance is if they beat Italy. And if they indeed beat Italy, then Italy's chances of advancement depend on USA-Ghana being a tie.

I think it will be Italy with 7 points and USA with 4 and USA will get a reality check by the Pele army in the sweet sixteens.

And before Sobi or Nescio or any other smartass comes and tells me that I follow soccer every four years, I want to do to them what De Rossi did to McBride.

U.S. only hope is for a win against them, and an Italia win. If the Czech Republic win, U.S. will need to make up 5 goals. If there is a tie, we’ll need to make up 4 on the Czechs, but then they’d still win due to better goal differential against U.S. So, US. would need to make up 5 on them too. So, U.S. only option are a win and an Italia win, a win by 5+ (not going to happen) and a draw, or a win by U.S. and a win by a Czechs (with the Czechs and USA scoring 5+ more than the combined score of Italia and Ghana, also not going to happen). This will be so nervewrecking…

Nice analysis. But I think Ghana is sitting in best position. They can beat USA and safely move into 2nd round. I hope this happens.

Nes, I still dont agree with the third red card (second yellow to be precise)

And by the way, I dont get Fifa referees, they fail to be consistent and uniform even after gazillion meetings before, during and after the major competitions.

I dont think we will see any such foul punished in such way in any other game. (third one)

Czech need a result against Italians. All teams apart from USA have their fate in their own hands i.e. get a win and qualify. I really hope USA beat Ghana and Czech Italy draw their match, this will ensure a qualification for both Italy and Czech.

I agree with f&B though, Ghana have given themselves a great chance and somehow I dont see USA beating them and I dont wanna see Italy or Czech out this soon. (but out of these two, I will prefer Italy go through) Its gonna be a gut-wrenching night though

U.S. got Pope and Mostroeni suspended, especially Pope will be missed in my opinion.

And Ghana clearly is the strongest African team in this World Cup, technically ok, but one of the very few African teams that doesn't play really naive like the Ivory Coast and got more skills besides just being technically good and athletic.

I can’t believe del piero is still playing. I remmember him from my old playstation 1 fifa game. Boy was he fast in that game.

I was suprised how well US played Italy, too bad the americans don’t care about the soccer, they are definitely missing some really good competetive games.
