Re: World Cup - Group A
Its kinda weird. I think there will be more goals scored in this world cup in general. and also more goals in compared to other world cups through long range drives and set pieces.
have fun stopping beckham and ronaldinho.

Re: World Cup - Group A
well all in all a good begin to the tournament.
Although Costa Rica were quite weak, it was encouraging for the Germans that they scored 4 goals.
Poland are looking at an early exit. If Ecuador qualify for the next round, it will make the England-Sweden match even more interesting: who wudn't want to miss out on the Germans and play Ecuador instead :D
Re: World Cup - Group A
i am living in germany and i am sure that my team will win this championship....................

more goals scored = more entertainment, otherwise its becomes a drag of a game
didnt they voice concerns when aussies introduced the white ball for cricket back in the days for one day games played in australia. now it has become a standard.
Re: World Cup - Group A
^^ They change the ball every world cup.
I just saw the Germany V Costa Rica game. and that ball is crazy!!! It swirls alot, moves through the air faster. Ronaldinho and Beckham should have fun with it.
5ABI: less goals doesn't mean the game becomes a drag. The defense and the goalkeeper should not be at a disadvantage.
Re: World Cup - Group A
^ May be they will over do it.:D.
Somehow I dont like these established players. First thing is they are always keenly marked and are given very little room for manouvers.
The goal from Frings was superb. It swirled in a quite a lot. It was a near perfect execution.
Re: World Cup - Group A
Two very fun matches today. Save for the ridiculous offside trap crap they tried to pull, Germany looked brilliant. Lehmann did look lost, but there was no need for them to try the offside trap on Costa Rica. When the backline wasn't trying to be cute and were just trying to play defense, they were more than effective and overpowering.
Poland was horrible. They should have definitely won that match, no excuses. You still have to give Ecuador some credit, their defense was solid. It seemed as though Poland had no idea what to do when they got into the box. Too many lousy passes in the area. No way are passes like that going to get through with that many people in the box. This just makes interesting as I tend to believe that Costa Rica might have an upper edge against Poland.
Re: World Cup - Group A
I dont think the Germans have what it takes to win. Their back four looked really shaky at times, and against better opposition they will be punished.
Re: World Cup - Group A
i thought the pol-equ game was more interesting than the first. if you werent aware of the scoreline, you'd think the pols were running away with the game.
as for germany, i agree that they have to work on their defense.
Re: World Cup - Group A
Jens Lehmann has sprained or hurt his ankle and will not feature in the next game vs Poland. I'm sure former captain Oliver Kahn is all smiles about this.
Germany will get a boost in another department with Ballack coming back.
As for Poland, their coach Pawel Janas did not select the top goal scorer in the qualifiers and club championship. It is kind of sad when you work so hard in the qualifiers and then some old guy takes your spot in the national team to play in the World Cup. Thats probably why Poland lost, they couldn't handle Ecuador's burst of speeds at special moments.

Re: World Cup - Group A
I think so too.. but usually germany defence is the most inspiring than their attack.

Is no one watching?

^^ we're still thinking keh KAAAAAAAAASHHHHHHHH saudi arabia jeet jata :D
Re: World Cup - Group A
ahhh that was so close...Germany almost had one in.
Re: World Cup - Group A
come on germanyyyyy!!!
:fifa:
Re: World Cup - Group A
Poland are playing for a draw from the first minute. Pathetic.. And I cannot believe their coach dropped top scorer from the qualifiers. Germans wasted two clear sitters, one from klose and one from podolski.
0-0 with 10 minutes to go.
Re: World Cup - Group A
GOOD GOD!!!
so closeeeee :fifa:
Re: World Cup - Group A
What a fnish.....
Superb goal deep in the injury time...
Germany won 1-0 and almost the first team to qualify for the next round.
