Working on Six Packs..

Re: Working on Six Packs..

1)Stop exercising everyday. Work on your core muscles and incorporate more pushups and pullups in your workout. Ab exercises only twice a week like on Monday and Thursday

2)Diet is important but I can't do hardcore diet as mentioned in this thread. Remember that getting 6 packs is easy but maintaining them is hard so if you think you can live with egg whites and protein for the rest of your life by all means go ahead. I personally replaced all carbs with bran bread and also drink fruit juices and salads and rest the same desi diet which includes different 'salans'

3)Cardio is important. I would suggest mixing up brisk walk/running/elliptical trainer/jump rope/rowing every week.

Re: Working on Six Packs..

Sup yo..

I workout everyday with differently. For instance, i Work on shoulder, triceps and biceps one day. Then second day may be my legs back and so on. And do cardio+abs everyday. So ya..i keep it consistent. So i understood what ya mean not to do things every two or one day. cheers!

Re: Working on Six Packs..

I started 2 years ago, but the lazy guy I am I lost interest!

My brother though has been working out for a few years and knows a lot of different workouts, so that's a help.

I've only started doing biceps so far though

Re: Working on Six Packs..

oh so sad
so its just me that doesn't have a ripped SO?
although he is handsome he doesn't have a six pack lol

how can you encourage a guy to get a six pack :D?

Re: Working on Six Packs..

my hubby has a prominent 6 pack and only plays cricket now, he doesn't work out daily as he used to. it's because he hardly has any body fat though (normal diet). we know from the past experience that with just about a month or so of a bit of focussing on them and he ends up with a brad pitt in fight club physique.
i imagine daily manual work would give the muscles required as well.

Re: Working on Six Packs..

My bro also has very little body fat naturally  HE GOT ALL THE GOOD GENES.

He eats like a little piggy but he plays alot of basket ball. He is not lanky at all and has broad shoulders and a naturally defined physique.

I hate him for it :grumpy:

So i guess it is possible to have a naturally tones pysique/low body fat %.

Re: Working on Six Packs..

Yes -I was clumsily trying to say I am one of those battling the late middle age person's bugaboo - the only 6 packs I am familiar with can be picked up at any 711 store
