Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

do u sometimes feel like just quitting and staying at home?

sometimes i wonder why on earth am i working. It’s not as if im money hungry.. neither the hubs and i are.

Sometimes, it just becomes all too much to handle.. well only when the bubba is unwell and u have important meetings to attend. Its just gets all a bit too much and I think, why dont i just go home and give the bubba a hug.

She’s not deprived of any.. really. She aint. So this aint about a mothers love for a child… more about what makes u want to still work.. and not just give up.

Note: and no i dont believe mothers who are at home have given up work.. not for a second  thats a very tough job, too

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

because you think about things like "what if I become a widow", who will earn the money for my family then? You want a back up plan intact, so you have to work, just in case- because catastorphe can hit any family anytime, any day- it only takes a car accidnet, a cancer, a freak accident or disease.

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

No I do not feel like quiting. I feel the need to go out and do something. I cannot sit idle.

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

Sometimes i feel like doing that and I am not even a mom!

So you think stay-at-home parents are sitting at home idle? :ASA:

:bummer:
No , but since my wife is stay at home mom and she likes to take care of everything at home , I would be sitting idle , if I do not go to work. :

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

*I was a stay-at-home mom for 5 years and have been a working mom for the past year. Even though, love my job, I always feel like quitting and staying at home again. Leaving the children behind every morning is really tough. *

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

I'm not a mom yet, but I have contemplated this A LOT as well. If you and your hubs really don't care/need the extra money and you want to stay home with your kids, why not just go for it?

I would love to be able to stay at home when I eventually have kids, but I know in my situation it will never be possible sigh.

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

It's only natural to stay with the kids..... ;)

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

I do sometimes I feel like slapping everyone at work and quitting but I don't.

Then I got home and I feel slapping everyone at home and quitting but I don't

sigh

Hehehe. This gave me a good laugh, but sometimes it's totally the truth!

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

LOL njgal.

I don't think I can ever not work without going into depression. Unless I am travelling for a couple months.

or a divorce..

its only natural to want to give them the best too

Re: Working mums... and dads too (maybe)

I was miserable when I decided to quit my job for housework and hubby.

The main reason for quitting was because of newborn kids, however, I think if I did not have to worry about house work and baby hubz, then I sure would have been able to handle 2 kids and job just FINE!

Depends on what the "best" is, a good education, living in a safe and decent neighborhood in a good home, these things do matter, and parents should want to give their children that...and strive for what's in their means...

it's when you define wha the "best" is that goes from being a normal parental need to being merely materialistic.
