most technical words are extensively used in urdu but there is 'moHakma e tarjumaat' at the **Anjuman-e-taraqqii-e-urdu-dar-Hind****, in which my brother is a member, which translates words all the time.

if i were to translate the world 'internet' i would translate it as: ***bain-ul-'ankaboot*

Re: Words Use in Any Languages Same As It

How about Darmiaan e Jaala? (Farsi)

Re: Words Use in Any Languages Same As It

there are certain RULES of Connectivity** [qawaaneen-e-izaafat]**** that you have to follow to come-up with compound words...in urdu they are denoted by ZER [word1*-e-word2] and waao 'ataf denoted by o for Harf-e-waao [word1-o-*word2]

*the rule is that both words MUST be either of Arabic and/or of Faarsii origin.*

the example you gave [darmiyaan-e-jaalaa] is invalid because the word "jaalaa" is of Hindi origin...also, darmiyaan means "in between" while 'bain' means in-between but inclusive of both.

get it?**

Re: Words Use in Any Languages Same As It

I was making up something in Farsi and Jaala is in Urdu already. :D

Now we need example of how to use Bain Al Ankaboot.

Bhai Kia Kar Rahay Ho?

Main Bain al Ankaboot Par/Mein Hoon.

Re: Words Use in Any Languages Same As It

Yes but not when it will be used commonly.

The problem is that people do not use Urdu words commonly hence they sound funny.

Internet

Inter = connected to=Between=Bain=Darmian
