there are certain RULES of Connectivity** [qawaaneen-e-izaafat]**** that you have to follow to come-up with compound words…in urdu they are denoted by ZER [word1****-e-word2] and waao 'ataf denoted by o for Harf-e-waao [word1-o-****word2]
the rule is that both words MUST be either of Arabic and/or of Faarsii origin.
the example you gave [darmiyaan-e-jaalaa] is invalid because the word “jaalaa” is of Hindi origin…also, darmiyaan means “in between” while ‘bain’ means in-between but inclusive of both.
