Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

Shoaib, Woolmer exchange hot words at Port Elizabeth

ELIZABETH: Pakistan cricket team coach Bob Woolmer and speedster Shoaib Akhtar exchanged hot words before resumption of second day’s play here on Saturday.

According to Geo News, Pakistan team was practicing when Woolmer commented on Shoaib’s fitness followed by the exchange of hot words between the two. Shoaib than left the ground reached dressing room where both once again squabbled each other.

Senior team members and team management officials interrupted to calm down the situation.

Kya musebat hay yar, sakoon say kyon nahin bethtay hain yeh log :smack:

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

Wherever Shoaib is trouble follows.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

They showed some scenes of the heated arguement when the play started today. Things didnt look good. Akhtar was yelling at Woolmer while pointing his finger at him again and again. Woolmer kind of jus had his hand on his back and was wondering what to do. Inzamam interfered and calmed Akhtar down and had a team huddle.

Must say looking at all of this, it does seem it is Akhtar who is the root cause for all the problems...Inzi and Woolmer were mere spectatotrs of his outburst.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

Is that why he is not bowling today?

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

Tomorrow his pics will be in the SA newspaper showing him dancing the night away in some disco.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

^^ :cb:

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

pathetic stuf…

is he the one and only one now in world cricket who is the most indisciplined…and mouthy…

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

is that the reason hes not out there bowling..that remains to be seen

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

^ there is also talk of him injuring his hamstring… now I’m not sure if it is really “ham” string or some other string :cb:

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

this is unbelievable... if shoaib is at fault then he shud be dropped simple... no matter how great he is ... there is no solution to the man's ego.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

well he had some hamstring problem after the first day play and he mentioned about it during his interview with Ian Bishop at the end of 1st day play.
Seems like the paddha occured because of the injury as woolmer criticised/commented/taunted (we dont know yet) during the practice session today before the start of play. It was seen on live TV as the play was about to start.
Anyway I don't think that Shoaib is out of the field becasue of the paddha. I am hoping it is because of the injury.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

^ if it is true that Woolmer's comments sparked the issue, then he should be more tactful and careful.
Maybe his gora attitude and swearing is at play as well when it comes to Akhtar.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

Shoaib is a real enigma. It's almost impossible to work him out. Injuries and controversies have been the story of his life. Not surprisingly he has played only 43 tests in almost a decade of international cricket.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

i think akhtar has to play for his team and most important for his country what ever happened in dressing room he should play for his own country not for GORA.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

^ Akhtar doesn't play for anyone except for himself.

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

Can anybody post a video of this incident?

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

Shoaib in the middle of a controversy…That can’t be news. Why does it surprise anyone?

I am not bothered. :chai:

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

the fact remains that since the two Ws departed we’ve not had any bowler as good as him…
all the talks about asif and gul r good, but once they play with shoaib they look so mediocre as shoaib takes middle stage…

or jab aik hee bowler ho team ke paas to nakhray uthaanay parrtay hain…

after all hum ne wasim bhai ke nakhray bhee to bohat uthaye hain…

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

but Akram rarely skipped/missed matches thru injuries/controversies. He was supremely fit, possibly the second fittest bowler we had after Imran Khan

Re: Woolmer-Shoaib heated exchange

:D he never helps his own cause and will never learn..............
