Agree with you,But a girl/women has to think 2 what a hijaab means
before she were it. Coz some girls wears hijaab and still they do
things what is ma haram.
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
I wear a scarf which looks just like hijab but I do not wear it for religious reasons. Now, some people dont like that I wear it because they feel I am portraying a wrong image since I am not very religious myself. Eventhough outwardly I seem religious.
But at the end of the day, I do what I want and I have my reasons for wearing it. I disagree with those that say I should not wear it, and I will not take it off for them either. Allah knows my reasons, and I know that by wearing it, it helps me remember that I am muslim and that I should try to act like one too, eventhough it doesnt always work.
People will always try to control your life, your thoughts, your actions. It's upto you what you want to do. In Islam, every little thing you do counts. That means wearing a hijab even if you do other things that are not islamic. Not a single one of us is free from sinning. Not a one, and yet we dont hesitate to say in an instant that we are proud muslims. How many of us really go around acting like one, pray five times, give zakat, perform hajj, eat only halal, stay away from gossip, and even know what is required to be the best muslims we can be? You are representing Islam whether it simply a muslim name you have, the fact that you equate yourself with Pakistan, the fact that you tell others you dont eat pork, or whatever the case is. Your friends know that you are muslim. You should look at your own selves when telling others not to do things that are Islamic in nature (like wearing hijab). People do not go around pretending to be non-muslim when doing things that are unislamic. The girls who dont wear hijab and go around partying, drinking, etc, do not tell everyone, "heyyyy I am not muslim because I am doing all this". All of their friends usually know they are muslim because they make it known, just as someone wearing a scarf makes it known. Anyway, just my view. Feel free to disagree, but I stick to my opinion.
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
Well, its too much for parents to put their teenage girlz in toronto's public schools and expect them to behave like good hijabis, ofcourse most will fall into what the majority is doing. West is not a good place for raising children.
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
It can be if you can raise them while teaching good islamic values from the very beginning. If you look at it.....the entire world isnt a good place for raising children.
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
AnGel EyEs, let me try to explain my point of view. I believe in modesty and Islam underlines just that. When you say hijab you are talking about clothing of seventh century where Arabs knew what is modest and not in their time. There are many ways to dress modest just like there are many versions of hijab. In some countries, it is compulsory to not only cover your head but eyes also the strict version called 'burqa', I have lived in Saudi Arabia and attest to that. In Pakistan, it is not and women over there dress and behave with class and modesty. With time hijab and its forms have changed just like globaliztion has transformed the world and we live in that world.
I am not going into debate on what Muslim women should cover their head with, I am happy if they show decency.
Re: Women who “choose to” wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
Can imagine what others call you. ![]()
This is a common perception among self-righteous fundooo idiots who feel that Americans are out to get them or are “afraid” of them. What I have noticed is that hijaban suffer from bad BO! Shower or use a good deodrant. Shabaash.
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
LI, seems like you have been real close to a lot of hijabans?
Re: Women who “choose to” wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
Honestly noone was ever mean to me or said anything nasty or said something bad to me when i wore a scarf..in fact only retarded comments i heard were from another Muslim.. everyone else (nonmuslim too) was encouraging of me. then again i’m alwyas in my little old world so I wont notice ppl talking crap about me :halo:
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
Anyone who thinks women in hijab have no future is really wrong, how about the guys in beards, they might struggle to find a good job cuz of it, but if you are mentally strong and believe that Allah swt will help you, you'll end up being successful. Same goes for women in hijab, just because someone wears a hijab doesnt mean anything, it all depends on the person, their determination and their faith. This is no excuse to not wear it.
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
Oh forgot to mention as i was saying earlier....
with wearing hijab Alhumdulilah landed a very well job and work in Heart of NY ---- Manhattan. So hijabi Girls do have future :~)
If i can do it anyone else can do it as well...have faith in Allah he is the one who provides everything to you...
Luxury- I know you are trying hard to hit on me... this technique wont work either......
Incolast....I know me very well....
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
i am living in Germany and i am wearing Hijab as well,,
I also find a good job now,,, Girls with hijab defently have a future,,,
Of course i wa refused at two or three jobs because of hijab .. of course it is muskil to find a job with hijab in western countries but i think for our faith and to fulfil or duties its nothin bad in facing some difficulities
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
Its hard finding a job full stop. If your not getting any offers, look into how you can improve your interview/ resume skills, utilise the Uni HR Officer! Hijab has nothing to do with it.
If you really want to believe that you were discriminated because of the hijab, then trust that you deserve MUCH better than working there. Usually people who discriminate like this have much bigger problems in their organisation (harrassment, rude managers etc), and its a form of protection from Allh (swt) that you didnt get the job.
Lastly, a job is not the most important thing in life, whereas hijab is an obligatory dressing for the muslim (believing) women and women of understanding. Know what, it takes a lot of intelligence and understanding to realise us muslim women are given much more rights (as per Quran and Sunnah) than the western woman. I work, and Im a hijabi, and I complain of 9 to 5 some days, and I think to myself, hey, its not obligatory upon me to work, I can give up when I want, pick it up again, start a business, laze around, start a movement, plant potatoes whatever. Whereas it is obligatory for men to work and provide for us. So, their complaining wont get them anywhere...sorrry buddy off to work you go.
I think about my western friends sometimes and I get so sad. Dad bought me a car on my 19th (as per his duty as a father to provide cuz public transport is non existant in our area) just like that. Whereas my best chicka friend who is what you would term "westerner" had to work shift after shift in Maccers (yuck) to scrape a car, while studying full time. Im not saying her Father is a bad person, not at all, he's really nice, but he just doesnt believe that its his duty to provide for her and that she should "stand on her own two feet" and earn her way up. Thats gotta be tough and thats only one example!
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
I have not read all the comments and have only read the topic (I apologize for that) but all I can say is that our future is not built on money/jobs but rather following the commandments of Allah. It would be dumb/stupid to say that a muslim will be able to enter Jannah without any tests in this world. Allah says in Quran addressing us that "Do you think you will be left alone when the people before you were tested severly. Even the prophet and his companions cried out 'when will the help of Allah come' " *.
Allah has written down our Rizq and therefore we will get it whether we wear the hijab or not. So wearing the hijab is not what is gonna get us more/less Rizq. Hijab is commandment of Allah, not a uniform for getting/not getting jobs. Hijab has nothing to do with jobs. If a certain person/company deny you a job because of your hijab, then they will answer Allah but that does not mean that you take off your hijab and start looking for jobs. What good is a job when it has no barakah in it. If a person had $1,000,000 without any barakah and another person had just $1200 with barakah in it, then the second person's earning are much much better than the first (no doubt about that).
And besides, no-one is going to live in this world 4ever. Who knows, you might take off your hijab, get a $200,000/yr job and after 5 minutes, get hit by a car and die. So what good was this job when you ignored the commandments of Allah. It is therefore best to follow the commandments of Allah even if you were to loose your job for it or even your life.
REMEMBER: This is nothing but a test from Allah and the only ones that will be successful are the ones that follow Allah's commandments throughout. :)*
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
Serenity and grace come from within. Hijab or not. You can just tell a religious, upright and serene gal from a naughty thang and that makes all the difference. Should hijab be observed? IMHO, it depends on a number of things. First and foremost is the reason behind it. Is it to observe the religion or to please parents, friends etc. In the west, it may bring MORE attention than going without hijab but dressing modestly.
Re: Women who "choose to" wear Hijab - Do they have no future?
oye disco hijaban, music is haram too.. innit? :P
