Where do/did you get yours? I need one or two for interviews in April. I have looked around in dept stores and everything i try on needs to be altered since i am a bit short. I dont like it tight, i dont like my butt sticking out, I dont like the jacket short. The long jackets only good in spring/fall, I am looking to buy more of a all-season traditional kinda suit.
Where do I start :o
I am honestly thinking of just going to Saks and go broke.
u dont like a short jacket and u dont like a long one and u dont want it fitted.....WHY waste money at SAKS then? go to H&M, burlington coat factory, century 21....
saks fifth ave, bloomingdales, and all those big companies are really good no doubt...
But i hate getting broke so i prefer simple and plain DressBarn... Call me cheapo or whatever! But i refuse to spend over 300 bucks on a stupid suit that i will only wear no more than 2 times a month. I probably will get rid of it after 6 months anywayz...
dressbarn does have good designs no doubt....Fabrics are really good as well
Plus i would rather settle for a suit for 200 bucks buy nice shoes for 50 and cute purse. [okay i am pushing it- love sales]
I don't have a heart to spend over that much cause there are kids and people out there who don't even have food and here i am with my lovely suits, nice sandels/boats/shoes etc.
I'd suggest going to the petite suit section of Bloomingdales. Get a good suit that will last you a long time in a classic shape. It will never go out of style and you'll get your money's worth.
Sounds like I am gonna have to make another billion trips to the stores and try everything again. I dont wanna go broke either :(
Maybe if I knew what I wanted it would help. I know what I dont want but I dont know what I want.
Ok Detroit. Go to Great Lake Crossing Mall or to the other huge outlet mall Birchrun(?) and you'll find a nice suit there. Or
nordstrom Rack or Loehman's.
Express is nice, their slacks r less than $100 but a matching jcket wud cost abt $150+ tho.. i dunno if ill ever need the jkt, but ive bought the slacks..i'm short too, 5'2", i just get them altered at the dry cleaners.. xpress offers free altering for their editor pants but theres a coupla restrictions (like it takes a week or so, its only this style, etc) so best check with a sales rep there..
Great lakes doesnt have any nice stores, do you mean sommerset collection? Thats too expensive!
Birchrun is too far.
I can however try nordstrom rack and i have never been to Loehman’s
Loose clothing, abaya, etc is fine.. but loose “suits” just look really sloppy n therefore unprofessional.. if ure wearing a longer (well-fitted) jacket over, u can wear fitted slacks underneath, whats wrong wtih that?.. im sure ull be working and/or commutting in an air-conditioned enviornment so u wont be sweating like crazy in the summer
