PCG, instead of wasting time arguing with fake “maulvis”, you should do research on your own. The article provided here clears alot of confusion about Polygamy in Islam.
Some people think that it is recommended, but it should only be done in certain circumstances.
That’s what I have done, and I already know everything in this article. But apparently, its not common knowledge among muslim men, and therefore, like an obedient and submissive muslim woman that I’m expected to be, I question myself and wonder if really all that these other maulvis are saying is really true?
Lajawab, I don't understand you. You tell me the reasons a man is allowed to take on a second wife for, and then we'll talk. I don't know which maulvis you are defending.
not that I disagree with Allah's law in any way, but u asked so thought i would add that since someone else would bring it up if you were to have that discussion elsewhere.

& how long has it been around? It certainly came 1.4 thousand years late. People in the pre-industrial ages didn't have access to these technologies.
^ yep and the only matter in which they seem to have a bit of freedom (numbe of wives) is put to scrutiny by non-muslims as well as moderate(!) muslims....
Well in male dominant societies men usually get more than their rights anyway, if anything their self-proclaimed rights should be reviewed and maybe cut back a bit.
Allah says in Quran a MAN can marry, "dow dow, teen teen ya char char" but requirement is that he do justice between ALL wives. There is no have the "right" or don't have the "right" or if others feel comfortable with multiple marriages.
