So what do they do when they have to have a picture ID eg. driver’s license.
I saw this girl in nikaab at uni. and it was weird. I wonder what she does when she has to go to the admissions office, cuz they require a picture id for everything.
Do they have to take of their nikaab at the airport?
Even in Pakistan, don’t you have to show your full face for a picture id or other matters?
I think a nikaab is a little too excessive, especially if you live in the west. What do you think?
yeah.. ithink in WeSt it would do the opposite of what it awas meant 2 do..a girl walkin aroudn in nikaab would actually draw MoRe AtTeNtIoN 2 her! ..
Re: women in nikaab...
wow nikab in a west coutry.....well i think if someone ones to cover in west than a burka with hijab is fine...why they have to cover the face....by doing thi, everyone will start staring.....
Re: women in nikaab...
If you wear a niqab in a western country you are a retard.
That doesnt mean you should be stopped from wearing it.
That is pretty much my opinion on this issue.
As we know that in France NIQAAB/HIJAAB is prohibited Now.

In special case like ID, Driving Licence, or Similar thing it is allowed to show the face. When it is necessary you can take a photo with out the Nikaab. But when there is no necessity than donot do it. There are many fatwas about it. In necessity you can drink and eat haram also but when there is not necessity than donot do it. It's simple:)
Re: women in nikaab...
Correct Ali Usman.
I know at least 5 women in our circle of friends who wear niqaab. They all go out and do their groceries, pick up kids from school, shop at malls, etc etc etc...they are very comfortable and happy. I think it's the rest of us who have a bigger issue worrying about them, perhaps because we don't feel comfortable in doing that.

Most of the women don't feel comfortable with the veil, while doing their routine work ,esp. in hot countries. But they do so because of religious obligation and that's why say, that they are comfortable with it.But in actual it is not so easy in the summers to go out of your home with the veil.
Re: women in nikaab...
Why are you so worried tt01 ? :@:
Re: women in nikaab...
I don't know anyone personally in my locality who wear niqaab, but once we had visitor's from dubai, the lady wore niqaab and when I was out with her, I really noticed how people stared, some actually looked quite frightened of her, some looked horrified, some looked angry, but there were others who were smiling pleasantly as if to make her feel ok. I did not feel comfortable bcos of the attention and quite frankly do not see the need for wearing niqaab in a place where you do not have wear it to fit in with the Jones'. Yes, I mean that, don't know if I have explained it well.
E.g. - In some places in Pakistan, if you go out shopping WITHOUT a face covering on, you will be stared at by men who think they have the licence to openly leer at you, shuffle past you with half their perverted bodies pressing against you and grope whatever part of you they can make contact with before scurrying away with an appendage that has suddenly taken on gravity defying properties.
However, in places where you do not get bad vibes for not wearing it, the niqaab can actually create barriers and alienate people from Islam who see niqaabi's.

They uncover their face when they have to.

Re: women in nikaab...
In my opinion if people want to wear a nikaab or abaya in the West, they are better off living in the East where no one's going to make fun of them or class them as "terrorists".
Re: women in nikaab...
I would just like to say is that, I would never go and live in USA etc. I am too scared after watching NY and Khuda Ke Liye. I love it here in Dubai where wearing the abaya is very normal. No one makes fun of me, no one calls me a terrorist, no one stops me from praying in a mosque, no one cares if my dad's name has Mohammad in it.
I know I could be a bit too paranoid, but this is life and muslims do have it a bit tough in the West. I would not mind going to the UK because that is not like USA. Plus I do not wear a Nikaab. Abhi takk Allah ne taufeeq nahi di, however I think what I already do is enough.

UK is better than USA and France......well so far.
Re: women in nikaab...
I know, that is why I said I would not mind going to UK.
Thats the true bit :k:
Re: women in nikaab...
You should connect that sentence to the previous paragraph, by the way.
Re: women in nikaab...
I rather live in USA than UK if I was a niqab wearing female.
You should connect that sentence to the previous paragraph, by the way.
And you should not base your judgements on bollywood movies, perhaps.
