Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Yah, that's true. I wasnt very clear. I meant to say that Burqas became more common in Afghanistan since the Soviet invasion, probably because of the complete breakdown of society and government. It's still pretty common there.

Which book were you advising btw, and what can it teach me? Must have missed it..

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

that’s true!

covering up womenfolk is a “reflex” in war like situtation, because unfortunately attacks against women, especially kidnapping and gang rapes, are VERY common during war time (reason for rapid spread of AIDS in Africa where civil war is prevalent)
hiding women under burqa is an attempt to protect them from evil warriors:bummer:

ps, i was talking about the book from respected anthropologist, David G Mandelbaum “women’s seclusion and men’s honor”, he spent many decades studying people of south asia duting the 20th century .

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Never heard of the book. But I usually dont read much by western armchair enthusiasts on South Asia who try to sell books anyway.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

he was not an armchair enthusiasts, he was the first north american anthropologist to undertake FIELD research in India. And he's not trying to sell books, because he died in 1988.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Freedom is only freedom when it is in doing the right thing. The ban that France has passed is absolutely ridiculous. I don't understand one thing. The French Government do not want people to cover themselves and be modest, but will allow nakedness. I say, this law of banning the hijaab will only make sense if they ban short skirts, tight tops/ anything revealing and force people to dress modestly.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

I meant when the book was written, the purpose was to sell the book so make it as sensational as possible most likely. Research papers are better.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

the thing that is most important for a woman is to worship her Lord.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

*If your read my threads you already know I knew this and your attempt does not impeach my statements nor correct them either. *

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

I support banning historically intolerant cultural ways and you admitt to the that people force you to wear burqa some other places . again this attempt still does not impeach my statements.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Yes you can blame htis strife against women on the Taliban and other fundamentalist muslim men. How are boys raised in Islamic socieities, you think with their religious values instilled in them they would not behave a savages on steroids. However and most importantly it has not prevented women in BURQAS from being raped at all , instead it has only enhanced their non entity on the streets as those Taliban and men desired.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

France's secular society is more important it permits freedom or religious worship and lets not forget Jew and Christians are also under this rule. Go vent to Saudia Arabia and other countries who kill when one converts to another faith of choice that most fits with their life and their joy of life.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Heh, whoops. Chalk up another sin.

So according to you, if the French eat pork - I should do the same!
That’s pretty screwed up. Assimilation sucks. I follow my own ways. :hoonh:

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Hijjab is sign of humility not arrogance.........and if someone wears hijjab and gets proud so she should humble herself and should think that Every Good is from Allah not from herself.
to sara and others who think i'm proud.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

to uberalls
if you don't cover yourself except face and hands you should except it instead of saying that it's not in Quran or hadith.............Please don't lie.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

french jews never accepted to eat pork, look what happened to them:bummer:

so you can understand why girls are scared to wear hijaab in france even withhout law against it:D

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

no, sorry 80% french people are atheists, and belief in god is rather look down upon in france, religion is seen as backward and people are ashamed of it,
only jews are allowed to claim their religion because of what happened to them 60 years ago and the guilt french feel about it still today.

freedom is more important in france than in many other countries (including america) but is not free as netherland or scandinavian countries…and i wonder if the ban on public religious expression is not one of the root of that freedom :konfused:

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

Allah swt says in the Quran that women should cover up completely when they go abroad , n Muhammad PBUH set the guidelines for the hijab, these things aren't cultural, they are part of the religion. Umbrellas I highly doubt your a muslim all you do is insult and insult every aspect of Islam that goes against the morally incorrect western societies. A muslim knows that hijab has been prescribed by their Prophet but u do not.
To all the ladies you dont want to wear it for whatever bs excuse its ur choice but dont deny it as part of your religion.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

you’re right afridi786…she’s ismaili.
but i don’t know about the covering women when they go non muslim countries:confused:
it says in the quran and hadith that women should cover themselves in front of na mahrams.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should **cast their outer garments (Jalbab**) over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 33:59

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils (khymar) over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss. 24:31

Just admit it ladies, you just don't like the look, thats why you reject it or you think guys would think your religious and not be attracted to you. Make up is also not allowed, cuz why do you do it? To look good to strangers.
LoL, you can wear make-up and not wear hijab but only around your family.

Re: Women in Hijjab in Pakistan

yah my bad…i thought it meant like going abroad like another country u know how americans use it…changed it…thanks
