I have heard you quote, on number of occassions, the highly controversial verse:
"There is no compulsion in religion" And, also you tooted:
".....you cannot force anyone to be muslim or practise any part of Islam. There is no compulsion in religion according to the quran."
Listen - there is no such thing as freedom to choose in the religion of Islam; There never has been. It's all or nothing. There is MAJOR compulsion re: religious matters in Islam.
And, as if to prove that - you repeatedly tried to shove your belief re:veil down one's throat by sending her e-mails, and commenting about that in this thread in a disrespectful manner.
Let's take a look at Islam and "THERE IS NO COMPULSION IN RELIGION":
1)Islam clearly rejects all other religions and denotes them as kafirs.
2)A muslim cannot criticize Islam or the prophet or the Sahabah for fear of blasphemy punishable by death!
3)A muslim may not leave Islam as that is considered an insult to the prophet. According to laws of Apostasy - the person leaving Islam can be put to death!
The above are a few examples of how Islam compulses or forces a believer to obey everything about Islam, whether it makes sense or not. And, then you come out and flaunt - "THERE IS NO COMPULSION IN RELIGION". You don't think the World is stupid, do you?
The thread in question was about Hejab and what it means, particularly in context of covering the Women's face. There is, obviously, nothing in the Quran to suggest that covering the face is part of Hijab, and, hadiths are controversial - plus, who knows the extent of fabrications that have corrupted the hadiths.
And, once again you tried to shove your beliefs, this time, down Abdulmalick's throat. You, even, called him Kufr and asked him to repent --WOW! I am not surprised because this is precisely how Fundamentalist Islam operates.
When one talks about Jurisprudence or Islamic laws or Fiqh --- the whole idea of Jurisprudence is tackling issues and finding solutions. However, Islamic jurisprudence is DEAD IN THE WATERS and, its jurists instead of finding solutions to contempory issues shove laws & traditions of early Islam down people throats. This to me is the biggest failure of Islam.
