women covering face -- bidat?

and i bet they had biceps double your size, and they were on an average, a head taller than you? dont worry, all that prolly means is that you need weekly shots of testosterone to push your body into puberty..

zaraatif, i agree with you that anybody forcing anyone else to observe pardah is wrong.

but if a woman observes pardah by her choice then its a noble deed for which she will be rewarded on the day of judgment.

TARIK,

Could you pls provide source of your quote for verse 33:59 because your verse is not as per Quran -- in which case that would constitute an outrageous inovation or bida't.

Tarik - you label "man as pigs" but women pay the ultimate price; a burqha is the worst form of degradation/humiliation that can be forced on a human-being. It just shows how convoluted and out-dated Islam's perception and laws are on issues of women.

abdulmalick, are you trying to say that if a tall woman wears pardah in the dark, she will not be recognised?

and what was Umer doing there in the dark watching ladies going for relief? I think Umer is one who should have been put in pardah not ladies.

Zaraatif,
Covering of entire body is a MUST but the face is optional as the ulema have disagreed on the face bieng a part of women's hijab. But as we all know that difference of opinion is allowed and part and parcel of islamic belief. So it is optional for a woman to cover her face and it shouldn't be forced.
Having said that the practice of covering the face has nothing to do with saudia as you have yourself said that it is followed in other parts of world as well.It comes from people in those parts belonging to the school of thought which considers face as bieng part of a women's hijab. This is just to clarify that covering of face is no bida't.But I agree that women should be allowed to make that choice on thier own.
BTW there's no law in saudia which requires women to cover their faces. It is only required to cover their body.I lived there for a long time and have seen women out on streets many many times with their faces uncovered. This is an example to show you that women there are not 'forced' to cover their faces.

asalaam o alaykum!

woman must keep her body covered, except for the face, hands, and feet. Tariq Khan, yes face is part of the body, but then so are hands and feet. With your logic they must be covered too. No woman cover her face and hands and feet at haj. although this is the supreme worship.

I agree with you that all trouble start when one looks at the face, but Allah has commanded the believing men and woman to lower their gaze. A poet of ancient time said:

"All affairs begin with the sight:
the raging fire a spark can ignite"

While a contemporary poet declares:

"A look, then a smile, then a nod of the head,
then a talk, then a promise, then the warmth of a bed."

But it is lowering the gaze and not covering the face. That is my understanding.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Hadith # 282
Narrated Safiya bint Shaiba (Radhiallaahu Anha) "Aisha (Radhiallaahu Anha) used to say: "When (the Verse): "They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms," was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces.

mundyaa,

May be you can keep your racial and sexist remarks about Indian women shoved tight where they came from... I'm sure it can't be your mouth.

If one thinks the Quran got corrupted then the Hadiths or Sayings of the Prophet take the prize.

60% or more of all the hadiths that exists today are fabrications; in other words, they have been created out of thin air by various parties to serve their OWN self-interest.

Faceup ran a good thread

http://www.pak.org/gupshup/frown.gif

i)THE GLORIOUS QURAN and (ii)To Faceup re: THE GLORIOUS QURAN that goes into the extent of the corruption of the Quran by the very people(Companions) entrusted by the most unique person to walk this earth - our Prophet!

Maybe, it’s time that the pollution, fabrications and manipulation of the Hadiths be highlighted.

burqha isn't degrading or humiliating....but sarhi wore by hindus certainly is. :)

Ok. I think that this ignorance has gone beyond limit here. I mean, zaraatif is doing her best to show her ignorance about Islam.
Beard & Hijaab are two different issues first of all. Hijaab is fard & beard is not, its only recommended.

So coming back to your point, I have posted another message on the similar topic, "pardah in pakistan".. Maybe you guys should read that, and also zaraatif, I know for a fact that I had emailed you an article about Hijaab.... so that should have taught you something and taken away all your ignoracne on this topic.

About being forced....
In Surah baqarah, there is an ayaah that says there is no compulsion in religion. Meaning, religion cannot be forced on any person, it should their personal choice if they want to believe it or not. But, there is no excuse for coming up with ignorant reasons why one should not wear Hijaab.

If you dont believe in the hadith, that means you cannot be a muslims, since you are dis-believeing in the teachings of our Beloved Prophet Mohammed (saaw).

HomiD

Hey Guy - you with the Taliban police on patrol with his lathi(stick)looking for some females in the slightest violation of burqha so you can whack her for your jollies! Your tone of speech needs a massive overhaul - Pal.

There is a thing called FIQH - it's high time the 'all male' scholars got together and re-interpreted the fiqua (ruling) on Hejab to OPTIONAL from COMPULSORY!

And who might you be sir ?
How can you even have the nerve to say that the fiqh ruling should be chaged on Hijaab, or any other topic for that matter.

Like I have said, you cannot force anyone to be muslim or practise any part of Islam. There is no compulsion in religion according to the quran.

So you need to check you Islamic Integrity, since by saying what you just said, you have said a statement of Kufr, so please do yourself a favor & re-state the Kalimah and ask allah for forgiveness from your words since that was a huge statement of Kufr.

And I am not affiliated by Taliban. I dont agree with 99.9% of their approch & actions.

To know the true Islam, all you have to do is study the history of the Prohpet (saaw) and how he treated people & spread Islam & also the history of the 4 Khaliffah's.

All I have to say is that Mundayaa, your a trip.... LOL

Hey HomiD
And, who the hell are you preaching out-dated interpretations of Islam?

Do you - a man, emulate the clothings of Prophet or Companions? Isn't modesty conferred upon males by Quran as well!

The fuqua on OTHER issues, besides women, needs to be revised according to changed environment.

I presume you have NO idea how FIQH works - do you? The rulings(Fuqua) are based on consensus & opinions besides Quran & Hadith and, the rulings are based on changing times and, a fuqua is usually different for different sect. This is an ONGOING process!

GET THIS THRU YOUR HEAD before you go around preaching Islamic integrity and calling others KUFR.

Taliban is a Islamic State which governs by the same extremist interpretations of Quran and the same fuqua that you are preaching and, you have the nerve to say that you do not agree with their approach. How different are you from the Taliban?

Ask Allah for forgiveness! Boy, you are on some ego trip, aren't you?

HEY !
Maybe, since you are such a big aalim on Islamic issues, you should check into what you are saying. I know exactly what you mean here, but you are saying something that does not & cannot change with time. But want to change something in the Islamic Fiqh because you think that it should not be there in the society today. Yet, if it was to be eliminated from the Fiqh of Islam, as you are claiming it should be, then look at the few countries who have set a great example for us already.
1) USA
2) UK
3) Russia & CIS
4) India

Look at the rate/statistics of Aids, teen pregnancy, prostitution, fornication/adultrey.. And then compare all those stats to the muslim countries.

A big reason is Islam...

PS....Ego trip & Me......LOL
