When it comes to discussing real life situations, be them health related, relationships issues or others, I notice that ladies start threads of more personal nature than guys. I mean I have not seen (hardly seen) a thread started by a guy discussing his feuds with his BIL or discussing his last prostrate exam with other guys and asking for their opinion.
Are we more reserved, keeping our private stuff to ourselves or you think that guys don’t find such topics discussion worthy as they don’t like to take advices?
What? That is so not true. Where did you get that from.
from living with one. I rarely see men talking about their health issues, their work complexities, family issues with even their closest friends - even with family. It's like they have their guard up even with their parents.

maybe they like to discuss only to the people who can give them an expert advice, like discussing financial matters with a financial planner than their parents

that's trust right. I trust that Niksik can teach me how to thread but she isn't no beautician ... but I trust her.
but that is a good thing, right? I mean it means they are not backbiting about their In laws in front of total strangers nor they are sharing their bedroom secrets with their best friends.

I guess its a good thing in a way.
Sometimes though, its nice to take a different perspective because you may not realize you're being irrational. There are moments when a person is being unreasonable and doesnt know it...in such cases a friend steps in (at least mine do Alhumdulillah whether I want to hear it or not) to let you know where you're going wrong. A good friend will do that at least.
