Why do desi woman look better than desi men?
I think its because of the grooming and make-up. Do our men just not groom as well, or enough? Or are they just inheritenly messed up looking to the point of no return?

To new mommies: When your kid has acne, don't be cheap. Take him to a dermatologist, so he can get some injections so he doesn't scar later on. So many desi men walking around with craters in their faces.

i think desi women who are in love with their husbands, and whose husbands love them back, do look hot… because they are happy on the inside and it just shows on the outside.. there are some who just want to look hot to show off what they have..
then there are those females who just cant be stuffed cus maybe they aint gettnig the appreciation and love they want…
for men.. same deal… plus, if they get the right advice, they will look hot too… same deal with women. If they listen to their man.. it will help as well

i will have to agree with PCG except for some caveats which I will cover in the end. when it comes to locals, i think its mostly a tie there
its more of an issue with immigrants, where a couple of things are at play, guys are working,
women groom better and aided by things like makeup, hair colour (ever wonder why so many desi women are redheads or blondes ;), coloured contacts, concealer, makeup, etc) I am not against any of that btw. grooming is not a big thing among many desi men as evidenced by even threads on GS or lack of products, advise columns, publications in Pakistan.
Now for the caveat...while the above statements are true for 20-40 somethings, go to any desi event in US, UK or Canada and look at men and women in their late 40's and beyond, in that group, men are defintely better in terms of being in better shape and able to rock desi or western clothing, those ladies may do the deso clothes thing, but see them try to do a dress a gown, skirts or jeans and capris etc :)

Girls can rock western or eastern clothing before they get married. If you're talking about the aunties, then yeah, there are issues there. But even then, you'll see the uncles letting go on their physical appearance as well. I dont understand why couples just stop caring about how they look after marriage.
At least control your weight and excercise - its not just about looking good. It's about taking care of your health. Not getting a heart attack at 40.

^ i have to disagree... men and women 50+ rock.. they rock western clothing... men in their 501's and blazers... lush. They look so handsome with their grey locks and specs... i totally adore them.. and i loved the cardigan look as well
even the aunties.. they look stunning in their capris.. open toe shoes.. their linen shirts... adore them.. even if they are on the bulky side, they can really dress well.
as for ladies in their mid 20's and above... u can still look hot without makeup.. seriously... just look after ur hair.. get good treatments, straighten it if it makes u feel lush, and u'll automatically look hot.. Im serious
and oh, i cant speak for the hubz, but i know i make more of an effort with my appearance now (without makeup) for him.... and if i ask him, he does it for me too :)

If you're talking about the aunties, then yeah, there are issues there.
many issues..
we have all seen desi aunties rocking velcro high tops with multicolour saris which coud be a good camouflage in a supernova or something.
But even then, you'll see the uncles letting go on their physical appearance as well.
It may also have a lot to do with socioeconomic groups, many older desi men who work in corporate world or healthcare do pretty well, now not well by the standards of some 20 something looking for hotness but acceptable by local standards.
by contrast, older aunties simply are not able to carry western dresses, trousers or skirts..cultural issues, socio economic factors or whatever.

I do find desi women hotter than desi men. very much so..as a matter of fact I dont really find desi men hot at all...
good to see PCG finds desi women hotter than desi men too :)

^ i disagree! i know some of the most well dressed desi aunities... they just look so cute
a lot of the uncles i know (the ones who dress well) also are very aware of their health... hence they try to look after themselves to an extent and they also look so handsome in their appearance

Um, you cant judge everyone the same. like said above, lots of factors come into play, like cultural/socioeconomic factors etc. a family with tight finances is probably less likely to be "better looking" than say, a "rich" family.
In alot of famillies today, its still not encouraged for women to look after themselves (exercising, hair treatments etc) because they dont have that support (i.e., someone watches the kids or takes care of certain chores, if finances are tight, they have less money to spend on manicures/facials/makeup/skin care etc). If its a typical immigrant family (or evne not), the father is probably working long hours and doesnt have extra time either to go work out at the end of hte day.
I dont see why we should be judging these people for the way they look.......nobody knows about their lives..i dont think its fair to make fun of the way they look or dress or lead their lives...
I mean unless u hate poor/immigrant people, who dont' fit into your view of the world....thats another story :)

I am talking generally and that can be easily seen by going to a good number of desi events, desi women of a certain age are not comfortable in western clothes, dont know what goes with what, cant wear trousers and skirts..
community events, walking at events like APNNA and ISNA is more than proof, and as you go to restaurants and movies and u see the older ladies, lates just say a larger ratio of older desi men can wear western clothing properly than desi women..same is true for UK, take a walk down southhall, or just hang in heathrow for a bit ..u will know what i mean
say no more..
