As funny as all this might sound, all this is a reality in the UK. Unlike in Canada and USA, the UK has till late accepted a lot of bottom of the barrel jaahil qom from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh who put new immigrant men and women through such hell. I found this a bit hard to believe too initially until i heard first hand from the mrs who has been working in UK courts as a police interpreter and routinely came across cases like these on a daily basis.

We are so deeply stuck into the whole innocent-women-are-abused-by-evil-men mentality that we are not willing to believe anything to the contrary. This is real, abusive women exist. I have seen many such examples in pakistan. Looking away from this ugly side of women won't change the facts.

Its important for all to realise and accept that both genders have evil traits and to accept that women are just as horrible as men when it comes to abuse. Sticking your head in the sand and blaming men helps no one.
One way to put a positive spin on this 
Agree mate, but I think its the frequency. While women are just as capable they’re not just as LIKELY to carry out the actions.

This is not just a male of Asian decent's problem.Abuse spans across Race Lines, social class lines and gender lines.
Men as well as women get abused on the hands of abusers as it is all about POWER and CONTROl for the abuser..this cycle never ends unless the abuser seeks help.
I know of American men abused by their wives, both educated people. It Happens, happens all around s everyday.
These people need support, resources to get out of that situation.

This is all too true, and it's not just limited to the UK, it's here in the US too. I personally know 3 victims of this. Not of physical violence inflicted on the poor man by his wife but more emotional. Parental alienation. Demanding the husband work at less dignified jobs (gas stations, cashiers) and live w/ her family instead of finishing his education (Masters, pHd, engineering) and living on their own. She just wants the money to fund her clothing and jewelry NOW, not 5 years down the road when he's done. Using kids to blackmail husband. Two of them hid either the husband’s or the kids’ passports—husband’s in order to keep him from getting citizenship; I guess it was empowering to them. One wife gave birth to their first child while husband was out of the country (I think visa reasons) and despite his desperate begging to the point of tears she would not tell him anything about the child except that it was born, and he would have to come see for himself (his flight was 2 months later). All three treated their husbands like trash as if they were not worthy of them b/c they were immigrants. I wouldn’t put it past this woman- she probably married a soft-spoken nice religious guy who tolerated everything b/c he believed that Allah rewards patience and that good men don’t hurt their wives.

Hmmm. Hard for me to believe. Mind you the violence was from her male relatives as well. Doesn't fit true image of anti-male violence.

This is pathetic, absolutely awful. People are treating eachother like dogs. However, it's nice to see women hitting men for a change :p
