Does it matter what you wear. Oky let say ‘Yes’ it does matter. But why wearing ‘hijab’ why become an issue? If one wear ‘cap’ or a small piece of cloth on head that is fine but if one wear hijab its become an issue and media push it as like a crime. Strange!
A former Disney employee on Monday sued the California-based entertainment giant, charging harassment and religious discrimination against her based on Muslim religion and ethnic origins in North Africa.
So i read the full thing...I actually like what they designed for her..its cute....it covers her hair, matches the uniform too. But I guess she wanted to wear her own hijab...
This reminded me of one of my own friends, she is Moroccan too, and wanted to wear a hijab to work, and instead of the short skirt which was our uniform, she wanted to wear dark trousers...guess what? they did not allow her to do that!!
This did not happen in the USA..but in the United Arab Emirates!!! So beat that!
She started wanting to wear a hijab a couple of years after she started work . Looks like disney proposed a head covering to go with her uniform and it looks like a hijab. So what is her problem ?
Well she chose the job knowing that, that was the uniform.
I don't see any fault here? Why should they change their uniform just to suit one employee who knowingly applied for the job
besides the disney woman was accommodated why is she being a spoiled brat just because she didn't get her way?

Maybe what they proposed resemble to the dress code of any other religion.

because hamaray logon ko religion ke naam pe discrimnation ka drama kerne kee bohut aadat hai
I remember after 911, when they sent illegal residents of Pakistan back home from USA (especially NYC area), Pakistani newpasper started shouting about discrimination. Aray baba, you were here illegaly, and they ran a background check on everyone and only sent you back home because you were illegaly staying here. Where is the discrimination in this.

She is hoping for an early retirement plan? I guess being a restaurant hostess didn’t appeal to her anymore.
Looks like Disney did come up with a solution. I have no idea on what basis she rejected the covering Disney came up with. On top of that…now she’s claiming that she experienced harassment at work as soon as she started the job. Well then why the heck did she continue to work there for 2 YEARS?!
I agree with you guys the company was willing to respect her religion but wanted it done in accordance their own dress policy. In most parts Sikhs are allowed to wear their Turbans in the workplace but that does not mean a Singh working for the Police should be allowed to wear a bright pink turban instead of a Blue one.
I don't see any problem in the hijab uniform suggested by disney as far as adhering to religious guidelines go.
at the same time its the repression behind not being allowed to wear something that identifies u as Muslim & that my friends is bias. Christians are allowed to work with their markings, then this does show a bias. plus offering a job where she won't be" seen" is outright discrimination.

the fact that it's hiding her religious identity behind the " policy" issue. if her reasons are genuine in that Muslims should have the right to be identified as a practicing Muslim then I support her.

You make a subtle point. Interesting - cant find a flaw in that logic. If open display of religious identity is allowed - such as a necklace with a cross - then woman should be allowed to report to work wearing HER hijab
