The step taken in order to preserve your religion is i think the courageous step..instead of attacking her with many questions you all should respect her feelings. we all are Muslims and our first priority should be the protection of Islam
An organisation should adapt to the changing needs of their employees, unless where totally unacceptable (due to health and safety issues) … All of the Tussaud’s group places in this country are very relaxed when it comes to khimar … it seems these restrictions apply in less liberated countries … like USA and the Middle East.
Disney did accommodate her religious needs by designing a head covering to go with her uniform. Looking at the picture of the head covering, I feel it looks like a hijab. Is there a rule in the religion that a scarf must be tied a particular way or that head must be covered only in a certain manner ? If not then the woman was being unreasonable. These kind of situations can create an atmosphere where companies may think twice before hiring people with special cultural/religious needs when there are other equally qualified applicants. There must be a compromise on both sides IMO but it looks like the woman was very rigid in her outlook.
Wearing hijab and wearing a necklace are two different things. And who knows, maybe they don't allow visible pieces of jewelry either that represent any religion? Its Disney and they uphold a serious image, if you havnt noticed already. A uniform, is a uniform, is a uniform anywhere.
Disney accommodated her by designing a head covering. Since she has to wear a uniform, its obvious the head covering will as well have Disney markings on it.
