Re: Woman leads Muslim prayer service in Toronto
Some of the view that a woman can lead other women in prayer. However, she cannot stand in front of them, but in the same row.
- A woman who leads men and women in prayer, her prayer and the prayer of other women would be accepted, but not of the men, as they are not supposed to have a woman lead them in prayer.
- The hadith that many use as a reference of Umm Waraqah leading other men and boys in prayer is a weak one. If it does happen to be sahih, it was only allowed under a special case and was only limited to her.
