you sad thing i am not but fantasise if you want to.
thnx but no thnx. you do realize when you put your open minded comparison you can lead people astray or be a catalyst in the process.
most importantly, qari is who recites Quran for translation dont you need to be at ease with arabic?
a translation is translation and Quran is Quran so that gives me a reason to log off happily.
regarding your second sentence: If one has a strong faith then one should not worry about being led astray. While I can question and talk openly about Quran I know deep down inside what my faith is and what my beliefs are, and no power except Allah can change that.
BTW This Qari thing I dont know, I was told in school to recite a verse, so I did next thing I know I was competing with other schools and kicking their a$$es.
its the strong faith dude that tells you to be cautious before you open your mouth. say some one is insecure and people are, its not hidden secret. would you being the muslim and knowing in your heart that you are on the right path want to lead people astray?
people who were very staunchly devouted were even careful passing on a hadith lest they make bad worse.just something to think about before you put up stuff.
Here we go again, wise one: Brother, no one is leading anyone astray, if people cannot handle the truth about their religion then maybe they don't really belong in it.
As far as "people staunchily devout " being careful. That tells me that they are hypocrites.
Listen if 4:34 says to beat women up. I didnt add lighty, Yusuf Ali did. If Quran says to beat women doesn't mean to go and beat women. There is a reason and certain pre-conditions associated with them before invoking 4:34.
I read it and I thought, you know my muslim walkie-talkies ought to know about this, so I posted. I would be doing great unjustice if I didnt't. One of the policies of GS is to educate others. I know many devout muslims here that know jack about their own religion, but are gung ho on telling others and labeling others as Kafirs.
whoa hypocrites? other than reading Quran e pak have you read any books on seerat of companions? coz they were very carefully about passing on a hadith. Hazrat Ali even stopped people from narrating hadiths except Hassan basari, because even with best intentions and hoping to educate people, we make a hash of stuff.
That is why Allah just didnt bless us with a book there was the a Prophet to explain the book and its meanings.
So read Quran, with tasfeer ,pray hard and tell me when and if you get time that having the good fortune of reading it as a believer why would you want to review it as a non believer?or what you call open mindedness?and as you say you were captivated by it, then according to Quran that people who truly are on the right path pray that the noor in the heart increases? they sure dont go and risk it by going through Quran critically. And that is the point that i have been trying to make that once you are a muslim, you dont afford to look at it in any other way other than a believer , and once you are believer and ask questions on Allah's order then you join "maghzobeen".
not clear to me what all of these threads are suppose to do in respect of educating others but please take care of your own iman before worrying about others, thats the first responsibility.
