Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

I came to the conclusion because instead of addressing the question/topic (abuse against men is trivialized), you started spouted stats on why women were the greater victims and ignored the topic at hand. Your post minimized the issue.

You failed to read with comprehension or the thread in its entirety and your post when read in context appears biased.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Guilty as charged. Something abt forest from trees. Yes I realize topic was one should not trivialize abuse against men. Am fully on board. (it honestly didn’t occur to me to say so explicitly).

I understand how that could have led to misinterpretation that my post was biased. Hope my clarification helped. To me the claim in OP abt 40 pct abuse victims were men was the bigger story. It simpky jumped out as WAY OFF. And so I set abt finding the truth. And the truth is way off from the claim in OP.

Anyways, sorry for confusing u with ghost. I had just replied to his quote of mine. Then saw ur post. 2 plus 2 sometimes doesn’t always add to 4.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

The fact that there is such a thing as “domestic abuse against men” is disturbing. You’re a man, how the hell can you be physically abused? Your wife/gf took a swing at you? How big a screw-up do you have to be to find yourself in that situation? The long string of constant mistakes, years of being a mangina. As a man it’s your responsibility to provide security and protection for your partner and your family, you are responsible for their safety. What the hell would you protect them from if you yourself are getting an ass kicking from your wife?

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

This is the kind of stupidity that results in men feeling ashamed to come forward and report domestic violence.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Exactly, they should feel ashamed to come forward and report domestic violence, instead of dealing with their problems. If a man cannot get his wife to respect him then perhaps it’s time for him to start considering that maybe, just maybe he is not cut out to be the head of the household. Women can’t fight back, men can. Give her a good old backhand, and set the ground rules.

Pride is a dying virtue, and we are a generation that gets to witness it’s death.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Backhand should get the pride back. Well said.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Or a yoga fire, or whatever you do. It is all it takes to put an end to it.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Well said.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Yeah. Not going to reply to this, because there’s no point reasoning with you about why it’s not okay to belittle men who are victims of domestic violence. I’m sure you are very cool.

Southie, I will take some time to reply to you and your nonsense for once. Nobody has time for your futile, off-topic, page long kachoomar about this or the other. Your inability to carry out a decent conversation regarding a thread is annoying more than amusing and you have a knack for defending trollish comments, wanna know why you do that? Because you like stirring things up, it helps you get noticed. You like the attention yet can never manage to give a semi decent response when someone takes the time to address you. I think it’s funny that you are agreeing with Pigeon, because if you actually apply the “backhand getting pride back” logic then it’s concerning.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

I am surprised you didn’t catch the OBVIOUS sarcasm I my response to Private Pigeon. As a person who in THIS thread had stated more than once that NOTHING justifies violence, not even instigation, PPs comments were so out of line I chose the sarcasm route.

Thanks.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

And my next post “well said” was also meant to be sarcastic. Nothing further to say here.

Quite disappointed in the unnecessary rude tone. Never had any issues or arguments with you. Considered you to be very funny. I try humor most times. And may fail most times. Sorry abt that.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Nor do I have an issue with you but considering your inappropriate one liners across various threads I assumed this was also your idea of siding with the minority. I apologise of course but that doesn’t mean you aren’t guilty of what I’ve seen from you.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

I side with the minority when I see just cause. Whether they be muslims in India or Hindus in Pakistan or gays. As for “inappropriate one liners” sometimes I try to convey a point by humor. Sometimes the joke is entirely clear in my head. Maybe there is no joke there. But I get a laugh. 90 pct of the time there is no vicious intent. Do I get into intense debates once in a while. Of course I do.

I try not to state anything “inappropriate”. What I state you may not agree with. In fact you may vehemently disagree with. But that’s ok.

i get along with most people. And will continue to do so.

Anyway thanks for letting me know how I come across. I need to think about that seriously and take corrective action. Maybe I am getting too comfortable here. And let my guard down once in a while.

PP happens to be in my ignore list.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Male domestic abuse victims are a minority, and usually have no support. Do you feel like you supported them in this thread?

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Ghost

I had already clearly stated that to me making fun of ANY abuse victim is UNACCEPTABLE. I forget if it was in reply to u or to seyrish. I had also stated I focused on the 40 pct figure in OP. Clearly that was over stated.

Just so there is no doubt, laughing at abused folks is not good.

Glad u brought up male victims r a minority. That’s what I have shown with stats. Women abused victims far outnumber males. So it is indeed a disservice to abuse victims to state 40 pct of victims r males. I was surprised no one caught that in OP.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Well yes, men are a minority and what is sad is that people find it funny or mock men who are victims, that is what I was annoyed about with his comment. Just like it is difficult for women to get out of abusive relationships, it’s the same story for men. Abuse is abuse, whether it’s a male, female or maple krispy kreme.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Oh please! Allow your signature hoodwink antics a little rest now.

In previous pages you have admitted that an article on Guardian verifies the percentage quoted, and had you read the article, you would’ve found that stats were indeed taken from British Home Office. So quite shameful of you to call it disservice to “abuse victims” when you know for certain that stated percentage is all true and valid, albeit for just one of the major Western states.

Forgive me for thinking so locally, and if you can, please forgive the 40% British male victims of domestic violence as well for getting a little mention in the national newspaper.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Male domestic victims are a ‘minority’ largely due to the stigma attached to reporting violence if you are a male.

And even if male victims do report violence, there will always be bunch sneering cynics who will somehow try their best underestimate the issue by pushing “Erm. Yeah. But, women are bigger victims” response.

For some strange reasons, you just cannot condemn the issue of violence against men in isolation. There has to be a counter argument or movement, I suppose.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

Typical of u to toss around “shameful” to discredit an opposing view. I read the Guardian article in full. And I have stated why it is an exaggeration once one takes into account intensity of violence.

Carry on.

Re: Woman Attacks Man = A Comical Sight?

So violence is only violence when you consider “intensity” of it? And who defines and verifies that intensity? You?

Any official stats highlight violence against male is disservice to real victims of violence and an exaggeration. Good.

Yes please carry on.
