We trivialize domestic violence by bringing up loose statistics without doing proper research and digging under the hood. The first thing that occurred to me was the MAGNITUDE of violence probably was much higher against women in terms of severity of injuries. Little did I realize it was this much higher.

So maybe this thread served a purpose. Brought to light things are far from “parity”.

Once again, you miss the point. We are **not **discussing who gets abused more. Women do, no doubt about that, and almost every domestic abuse helpline/organization is aimed at helping them. Your studies also have little mention of how much male domestic abuse goes unreported, which is difficult to research and would bring those numbers closer together.

Lastly, and please pay attention here: we are discussing **why it’s acceptable to joke about hitting men. **Your posts are off topic.
