The more pieces of the Neo-Con/Bush design that can be disassembled the better and Wolfowitz time has come with his blatant and open abuse of power. Europe’s credibility is on the line.
Wolfowitz Faces Showdown with World Bank Board
World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz is likely to find out Tuesday if he will keep his job. On Monday, a bank investigating committee reported that Wolfowitz broke bank rules in arranging a pay raise for his girlfriend. Wolfowitz is due to appear later Tuesday before the board of directors, in whose hands his fate now rests.
The investigating committee, which consisted of seven of the 24 members of the board, is withering in its criticism of Paul Wolfowitz.
Their report says his management of his girlfriend's pay raise amounted to a clear conflict of interest. It says Wolfowitz did not share information about what he was doing and even told the bank official who was handling the promotion to keep it to himself.

Angry Wolfowitz in four-letter tirade
According to Mr Coll's notes: "At the end of the conversation Mr Wolfowitz became increasingly agitated and said that he was 'tired of people ... attacking him' and 'you should get your friends to stop it'. Mr Wolfowitz said, 'If they **** me or Shaha, I have enough on them to **** them too'," naming several senior bank staff he felt were vulnerable.

Once in government, always in government. Wolfowitz was the # 2 man at Pentagon, just below Rumsfeld, before appointed as head of World Bank. He is merely accused, not even convicted.
Look at John Poindexter, a man convicted of a felony by the US Congress for his role in the Iran-Contra, he was back working for Pentagon as head of the TIA program.
While the federal government keeps everyone else in check, there's no one to keep the federal government in check.
Judiciary was established as seperation of government powers, but in the US, federal courts have established the Doctrine of Sovereign Immunity (King can do no wrong), a borrow from the old English Common Law, which means that federal government cannot be sued unless it consents to being sued. So much for this seperation of power.
This leaves Congress as the only contender to the Executive powers because it controls the funding for the Executive. But whenever you have a President in White House, who is of the same party that dominates Congress, you have essentially a monarchy.

the sad thing for amreekies is that this shaha ali riza was a political commentator who always came on news channels as a Muslim/Irani pundit who used to aruge for invading iran and stuff like that, basically a pro-western/hawkish ayaan hirsi ali type figure without the blatant Islamophobia. her credibility is completely shot now, I atleast havent seen her since.
I say we sack all of politicians who are out to make a buck on the back of US citziens. First one that comes to mind is Hillary Clinton...what a joke she is.
Trying to relate Hillary to this thread (as much as a stretch as that is), she surely could not be more abusive of power than Wolfowitz or this current administration.
lol, Kaleem brings up Clinton, wtf? The Republican party is a black hole of corruption and he wants to slam Clinton, talk about shoving your head in the sand.
Wolfowitz is out. Details of his resignation are being hammered out, mark it down as another Bush/GOP failure. Gonzales is next up to bat.

Seminole, what makes you say that? Have you forgotten whitewater scandal? fleecing of whitehouse, destruction of whitehouse property, mysterious deaths of clinton's closest friends.....

That is good, I never did like the guy.... his moustache was a straight giveaway that he was not going to succeed.

The Republicans put more much energy, resources and hatred into investigating Clinton than any other administration in history and they came up with a blow job. Hardly the abuse of power that has been systematic in the past 6 1/2 years.
The abuse of power by Bush and his cronies is unprecedented in our history. Their blatant disdain for the other branches and the oversight that is necessary in a democracy is shameful.

Nice of you not to address the issues I raised...typical response. Look, I am not defending Bush Administration... God knows it cannot be done... but please open your eyes to what a fraud Clintons really are.
I didn't address your accusations, because that is all they are. As I said the most investigated administration ever - and nothing was ever proved except an extramarital tryst which wasn't anyone's business to begin with.
^ Ahem, him not taking out Osama when he had him in the crosshair, may have cost us 3000 american lives not to mention untold numbers from Afghanistan and Iraq...
Sorry, I thought we were talking about abuse of power, not ineptitude.
But if that's the case, then we are still talking about a stellar record compared to the past 6 1/2 years of failure. Besides, Hillary wasn't president, Bill was.
