they also had another thing in common :) they were all middle-eastern..or from judea....where the tradition for keeping a beard is still prevalent.
I doubt it. 124000 prophets were sent to all parts of the world. They were not all from middle-eastern..or from judea. Bur their teachings were misinterpreted by the coming generations and thus gave rise to different religions, thus leading to their own worship standards instead of Allah (s.w.t) just like what happened in Christianity. If Allah (swt) only send prophets from middle-eastern..or from judea then people of other regions might not accept them. Even in Quran Allah mentioned that I sent prophets to people from "among themselves"
From what I have read (texts, hadith) and heard, I strongly believe that beard is wajib. I could be wrong but Allah swt knows best. However, it doesn't mean that I look down on anyone who's beardless or judge their character by it. Now answering the thread's question, I think that if a man chooses to keep a beard, his wife needs to stay quiet if she cannot support him with the idea or be proud of the fact that he's doing it for religion. Just my conclusion, peace.
Well said. I totally agree that a person should not look down upon anyone after keeping beard, because the true judge is only Allah and every person would be held answerable for his own deeds. When a man is not forcing his wife to wear Hijaab, (but only politely and with wisdom) trying to explain the benefits of wearing it (for the love of Allah) the wives also need to relax and consider the reward which they would inshaAllah get for not forcing their husband against what they feel comfortable with.
