Re: Wishing the christians happy christmas? Allowed or no?
Christmas is a pagan celebration which the christians started celebrating the birth of [unfortunately] their god.
The muslim mind will think it is a celebration of Milad but its details are mushrik. We as a people that both deny shirk and affirm the Prophethood of Rehmatul lil Alameen should not validate nor honour their day
There can be a case made for wishing them as there is exception to its prohibition. We should not wish them but the truth is (imo) we will end up wishing them willy nilly as we saw on page one here. The permission is being sought by the willy nilly people for it.
The true position is to not wish them merry christmas, although to wish them well and goodness (islam) is good.
