Wishing the christians happy christmas? Allowed or no?

Re: Wishing the christians happy christmas? Allowed or no?

I am thinking about your point of view, reply might take some time, if at all, because its not something i am very familiar with

However the tolerance of some christian monks has been vouched for in the Quran. So your pov is not just reliant on the King of Najran incident

This is taken from translation of the translation of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan:

[Maidah 5:82] You will certainly find the Jews and the polytheists as the greatest enemies of the Muslims; and you will find the closest in friendship to the Muslims those who said, “We are Christians”; that is because scholars and monks are among them, and they are not proud.

I have looked at this Ayat in the past and i found it is on the subject of tolerance. The christian monks would be able to tolerate Islam because they tolerated faith, unlike prouder people. Need to look at the tafsirs for this Verse again to be fair
