Just wondering, how come all Hindus of all parts of India don’t celebrate it why is it only AP, Karnataka and Maharashtra? Or is it called something else in the rest of India for the start of spring…apologies for my ignorance:blush:

It’s Sindhi New Year too. Sindhis celebrate with Gudi Padwa. They call it Cheti Chand.

On a unrelated do we have guppies from Karnataka, AP and TN who are still in these states. I for one am in Bangalore, Karnataka.. Would love to know if a fellow guppy is in Bangalore

btw - idiot karunanidhi, c.m of TN has passed a resolution that from now on Tamil New Year will be on the Pongal day (harvest festival!). what an idiot
Anyway all religious minded people (which is over 80% of the population, yes including those from his own party) celebrate it as usual in April (when the Tamil year starts with Chitthirai month 1st day)
