Wisdom Of The Sahabah

al-Imaam, narrated that someone asked Abu-d-Dardaa’, radhiyallaahu `anhu, to advise him, he replied:

“Remember Allaah when you are comfortable, He will remember you when you are in difficulty, and when you set your eyes upon something in this world, think about how it will end!”

Abu ad-Dardaa’ said:

“It would not be my greatest pleasure to open a vending shop at the threshold of the mosque, and even if it were to bring me three hundred dinars of net business per day, or even if it would help me, by being there, not to miss a single congregational prayer at the mosque. I am not saying that Allaah, the Lord of majesty and glory, did not make trading permissible or that He did not forbid usury, I am only desiring to be among those.” Surah24:37]. Narrated by Ahmad.

Abu-d-Dardaa’, radhiyallaahu `anhu, also said:

"If only you knew what you will certainly see upon your death, you would never again eat a single bite out of a craving appetite, and you would never again drink an extra sip of water for the pleasure of unquenchable and insatiable thirst.

Hence, you will remain outdoor in perpetuity, bewildered and awaiting the unexpected, and you will never again seek comfort in a shelter or seek a shade.

You will wander aimlessly and climb the hilltops of every mountain, you will look up towards the heavens and beseech your Lord for mercy, and you will beat on your chest and cry endlessly, and you will wish that you were a little vegetable - a pant which is protected to grow, and then plucked to be eaten by a hungry person passing along."

Narrated by Ahmad.

Abu-d-Dardaa’, radhiyallaahu `anhu, would say:

"Woe unto him!, and what an agony is awaiting one who cares only about amassing money in this world!

Woe unto him! who opens his mouth agape and drools at hearing the sound of money, who looks aghast, just like an idiot when he thinks about it, who stares at what people have, and who does not see what he has; and if he could, he would pursue such an obsession by day and night.

Woe unto him! What an austere reckoning and a grievous punishment are awaiting him!"

Also narrated by the Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal - radhiyallahu 'anhu.

The great Caliph Umar bin Al-Khattab radhiallahuanhu said: "Take account of your deeds before they will be accounted for you (by Allah) and weigh them out before they will be weighed for you. Be in fear of the Day when you will be displayed in front of Allah. Allah subhanahu wa ta `ala says about that day: *"That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden." * Al-Haqqah 69:18 [Az-Zuhd of Ibn-ul-Mubaarak]

Sayings of Hazrat Ali (ra)

Two types of subsistence: * “There are two types of subsistence, one after which you run and the other which runs after you”.*

The world and the Hereafter: * “He who seeks the world, death runs after him; he who seeks the hereafter the world runs after him”. *

Things to which nothing is better: “No honor is more respectable than the sword. No religion is better than Islam. No citadel is stronger than piety. No one is a better interceder than repentance. No treasure is richer than contentment”.

ad-Da'watus Salafiyyah is Mashaa-Allaah beautiful. It's about providing proof for any action you do from the Quraan and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Companions and their Students and those followed them exactly.

But, unforutnately, the likes of "Salafi" Publications and T.R.O.I.D. are not the real representatives of the Salafi Da'wah. When one thinks of Da'watus Salafiyyah today, it is automatically associated with the filth of the Sa'udi Government.

SPUBS and their likes, unfortunately have clothed themselves in the robes of as-Salafiyyah but they are liars to what they claim. By Allaah, they do not follow half of what the Salaf taught us and implemented. They have lied upon the Mashayikh adn spread their Innovation and filth upon the Ummah. May Allaah Guide the sincere ones amongst them to the Haqq.

It's nothing new, they have hijacked the term as-Salafiyyah and used it to suit their own deviated purposes. It happened before, when the Soofiyyah hijacked the term Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'aah.

I do not call myself a Salafi. But, however I do believe the Quraan and Sunnah are to be taken upoon the understanding of the Salaf us-Saalih without a doubt.

Beautiful. I love 'Umar ibn al-Khattab and I love his character. Allaah blessed him with so much Hikmah. To love him and have knowledge about him is a part of the Sunnah. I read a really beautiful Narration in Tareekh ul-Khulafah ur-Rashideen that the Prophet of Allaah sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said: "Jibreel said to me, 'Let Islaam weep over the death of 'Umar.'"

I can remember when he was going to Bayt al-Maqdis with his servant and camel. He was walking and the servant was on the camel and 'Umar had a torn shirt with stitiches in it and a shoe lace hanging down his chest, and when Abu 'Ubaydah radhiallahu 'anhu went to meet him on the outskirts of Jerusalem, he seen his state and told him to change his clothes and wear something more appropriate becuase he was going to meet the Priests and Bishops etc and he looked too scruffy to meet them.

So 'Umar ibn al-Khattab became angry with Abu 'Ubaydah and pushed him on his chest and said Aaah Abu 'Ubaydah if it was someone other tha you who said this, I would have taught him a lesson that would have been an example to the whole Ummah.

lol - Mashaa-Allaah.

And then he said his words, O Arabs! You were a despised people in the world. It is Islaam that give you dignity, honor and unity. Remember whenever you would think of acquiring honor in the name of any other ideology, Allah will bring disgrace and shame on you.

It is so true. Muslims today are seeking Democracy, the U.N., Secularism, Nationalism and other ideologies of falsehood, that's why they are shamed and disgraced as our Imam 'Umar ibn al-Khattab told us.

May Allaah be Pleased with him.

Narrated Hudhaifa: Once 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said, said, "Who amongst you remembers the statement of Allah's Apostle regarding the afflictions?" Hudhaifa replied, "I remember what he said exactly."

'Umar said. "Tell (us), you are really a daring man!'' Hudhaifa said, "Allah's Apostle said, 'A man's afflictions (i.e. wrong deeds) concerning his relation to his family, his property and his neighbors are expiated by his prayers, giving in charity and enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil.' " 'Umar said, "I don't mean these afflictions but the afflictions that will be heaving up and down like waves of the sea."

Hudhaifa replied, "O chief of the believers! You need not fear those (afflictions) as there is a closed door between you and them." 'Umar asked, "Will that door be opened or broken?" Hudhaifa replied, "No, it will be broken." 'Umar said, "Then it is very likely that the door will not be closed again."

Later on the people asked Hudhaifa, "Did 'Umar know what that door meant?" He said. "Yes, 'Umar knew it as everyone knows that there will be night before the tomorrow morning. I narrated to 'Umar an authentic narration, not lies."

We dared not ask Hudhaifa; therefore we requested Masruq who asked him, "What does the door stand for?"

He said, "Umar."

Al-Fassawee reported that Abu al-Hassan Imraan Ibnu Nimraan said:

Abu Ubaydah (radhiallahu 'anhu) used to walk between the lines of his army and said:

"So many people look after their clothes while their Religion is blemished and so many people think that they honour their souls while they disgrace them; So, hasten to expiate your past sins with present righteous deeds."

(Siyar a’laam an-Nubalaa)

Some more sayings from the great Caliph Umar bin Al-Khattab radhiallahuanhu :

"I am surprised at three things. Man runs from death while death is inevitable. One sees minor faults of others, but overlooks his own major faults. When there is any defect to one's cattle he tries to cure it, but does not cure his own defects."

"Blessed are those who are martyred in the way of Allah."

"Trust is that there should be no difference between what you do and say and what you think."

"Avoidance of sin is lighter than the pain of remorse."

"When a man puts me a question, I judge of his intelligence."

"He who does not know evil will fall into it."

"The wisest man is he who can account for his actions."

They have some good books I guess mashaa-Allaah, just like Fake Salafi Publications have some good books published, just like al-Hidayah have some good books published - But it still does not mean they (al-Hidayah and so-called Salafi Publications) are upon the correct 'Aqeedah.

They are still of those who defend the Kufr and Shirk of their filthy rulers.

I was hoping youd name them. : )

Hazrat Uthman (ra) said that he was surprised at the conduct of a person:

Who knows the world to be transient, [and still] loves it;

Who knows death to be certain, yet does not take it seriously;

Who believes in hell, [but still] commits sin;

Who believes in the existence of God, [but who nevertheless] seeks assistance from others,

Who is aware of paradise, [but is nonetheless] engaged in worldly pleasures;

Who knows Satan to be his enemy, [and still] obeys [the] dictates [of Satan].

Who believes in predestination, [but still] feels aggrieved with what happens;

Who knows that accounts [are] to be rendered on the day of resurrection [but even so] hoards wealth

A man of faith and piety is always subject to the following fears:

the fear of God, lest by any disobedience there is any faltering in faith;

the fear of the angels lest they may record anything against you which may be a cause of remorse for you on the day of resurrection;

the fear of the Satan lest he may tempt you to any evil;

the fear of the angel of death, lest your life is taken before you have sought pardon for you sins;

the fear of the world, lest by its temptation it makes you oblivious of the next world; and

the fear of family members lest by your attachment to them you become oblivious to your duty to God.

Maktabah al-Ansaar

al-Firdous are pretty cool too, the ones who published “In Pursuit of Allaah’s Pleasure”.

But, like I said, these fake Salafi Publishers, like al-Hidayah and SPUBS have some good books out too. You can buy them and learn from them.

Sufyaan reported that al-Ahnaf said:

"'Umar ibn al-Khattab told us, 'Seek the Knowledge of Fiqh before you seek Leadership.'

Sufyaan commented on this by saying, 'Because if a man becomes a scholar in Fiqh he will not seek leadership.'"
