Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

looks exactly like XP to me with better icons.

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

It looks better than XP-a lot better. Transparency is good. The window-control buttons in the upper right look better and less intrusive (XP looks like Fisher-Price had a hand in the display design!). It's overall more subtle, more mature looking...gosh! It's looks a little like a Mac screen! (Not much, mind you, but a little...)

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

The control panel seems more organized, which is a good thing. I like the way things are categorized, though there are some redundant n’ silly options [in CP] which are typical for M$. With respect to the appearance, then I think its not very different from XP, I mean, one could use a skin to give such a look. On the other hand, I like the new icons for the virtual folders … looks professional. But I wonder how the screen would look when there are plenty of folders :stuck_out_tongue::mudhosh:

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

In real life does anyone stack folders on there desk like that?

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

I agree, like the new Widgets application. Plus the Control Panel looks very professional.

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

if you mean desktop, then yes, me
if desk then no, I like my desk clean and tiddy.

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

looks kewl...

I'm just awaiting the day when OS will provide alternates for organizing data.

I use concept maps - does anyone know if these are available in any OS yet?

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

I guess i will keep using XP for about more than 4 or 5 years. SP2 really make a difference!

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

lol @ resemblance with linux, are u on dope man ?

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

not linux but osx maybe

IE with tabbed browsing - sounds like a catch-up job :P

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

5abi, IE with tabbed browsing is a catchup job.. similar to any other competitor software out in the market.

It doesn't look like OSX or LINUX .. it just looks like Windows XP but DOES NOT act like Windows XP.. it has many new feature set

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

Sound weird, the name that is.

Some nice features though

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

who cares how it looks like.. first thing i do is revert to classic mode no frills display anyway as it's just a resource hog.. just tell me it'll be more stable and faster.. much much faster and not run all those bloody services on it's own when i don't need them.. takes me like an hour or two configuring a new machine i use killing the damn services.. hacking registry and such..

oh and.. a registry editor that u could actually work with would be nice too..

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

Ansoon: catch-up job for IE/M$ yes, others like opera, fixefox, myie already have had this feature and many more lacking in IE

I bet they will release this BETA version as is, full of bugs ;)

Re: Windows Vista Screenshots

Even if they will release the full version, it will be full of bugs, that MS will eventually discover and solve. It is obvious from Window's history.
