Kinda skeptical about beta.

When do you think official version will be released? Or when can you expect beta to be matured via SP update maybe?

well its probably not going to be officially released until 2010

but microsoft is going to release this beta version officially to testers in a few days at the consumer electronics show in las vegas.. so it should be ok, all features working, etc

Windows 7 isn't changing much in their security architecture. As you can see with AVG.

The last I read, Microsoft was rushing Windows 7 and trying to make it by July/August 2009 or before the last quarter of this year. Though initial plans were to release Windows 7 in 2010 but Microsoft is expediting things with Windows 7. Besides Snow is due to be released this year as well. Microsoft can't have Apple take the limelight once again.

Problem with vista was that it was eating too much of the resources...therefore a very expensive OS.

What about Win 7? Is it that expensive too?

windows 7 is all wow… doesnt use up too much resources and is very quick

and as of right now you can download windows 7 (32 or 64 bit version) from microsoft’s website.. you need to have a hotmail account or sign up for a new one and fill out some questions and boom you can download it.. and use internet explorer when doing this, doesnt seem to work right in firefox (it downloads some download manager to your computer first then starts downloading the file).. yesterday, when i downloaded it, it was pretty fast with speeds up to 1.8 mbps, so the 3 gb downloaded in about an hour..

Guys, make sure you are using IE otherwise when you get to the Download link after you have received your product key, the download window will not open if you are using another browser. IE needs to use ActiveX control for microsoft download manager, in order for you to get the download going.

Firefox could not load the download manager, IE worked just fine.

For those who don't know....just remember that the installed os will expire on august 09. It won't last on your computer forever so don't get too comfortable haha.

I got same problem with VISTA, all Siemens softwares do not support vista or any other OS.
